i have been thinking all day about this subject. i have come to some b asic conclusions;

1. ban hi sec ganking. period. let the only legitimate way to conduct battle be via the wardec.

2.disband alliances. remove alliances from the game completely.

3. make corporations the only legitimate entity in the game.

4. only corps can sieze and hold territory.

5. limit the size of corporations ie 1500 players each max.

6. corps would be allowed to control the maximum of 5-10 solar systems.

i think the game has too many imbalances in it. there is too much power concentrated in fewer and fewer hands and this monopoly must be broken. i agree with the essential pov of pvp that combat is the life blood that drives the interest of most players. players like me who avoid combat are the rarity. by ending alliance control of space and opening it up to corporations i think you set the stage for pvp activity on a much greater scale for smaller groups. it no longer would require blobs of titans to have fun. small corps could have as much chance at owning space as anyone else. i think there would be more fun to be had. hi sec is for those who dont like combat. they have as much right in the game as those who like pvp activity. they also have a legitimate claim for safety without being attacked in their normal course of business. each has their role in eve and each has a right to their space to conduct their business as they see fit. thats why pvp belongs in low and null sec and peace belongs to hi sec except in wardecs which i think are legitimate.

Just biomass right now, it'll be easier for you than you having to watch as CCP implement none of your ideas Lol

I tend to agree with the original OP about PVP. It is all about recon and making sure that your side can win. I tend to like a good fight where the outcome isn't known. A hulk vs most other ships isn't a good fight and very cowardly. HS should be HS and those people that gank mining vessels should be punished a lot more than just losing their ship. I am not a miner, but appreciate those people that do. They keep my ship prices down and I don't want join a null sec alliance for ship replacements.

You wouldn't go into a mission or pvp without a tank, why do miners think they are an exception? AND then result in crying their eyes out on the forum about it?! Miners should be tanking against the world instead of thinking the world is risk free.

For the OP who is 'quitting' as mining is potentially about to become the most valuable profession in the game depending how the market goes then EVE or even any other game is clearly not for you Roll

Read the post above you. Yes, it's possible to tank a hulk. Sure some people choose to not do it. And I'm fine with them losing their ships to superior firepower. But the T1 barges, can't be tanked to even a minimal degree. It takes literally next to nothing to blow away a T1 barge. To me, that shows that there is something wrong with the equation. Mining barges, are not pvp vessels, and cannot be fitted to tank as such, yet they are on the receiving end of alot of 'pvp'. They need their tanks buffed.

SOME people choose not to do it?! this is the killboard from hulkageddon 4 last year: http://hulkageddon4.machine9.net/killboard/?a=home&m=2&y=2011

I'll give 25mill isk to a person who finds a damage control 2 on a hulk Roll

And this folks, is exactly what I was refering too in my first reply to this thread;

Not for people to play Eve, decide what aspect they like, then try to bend the rule set of Eve to their will. This basically boils down to an argument of wanting PvE/PvP servers.

This just reinforces the fact the original posters view of Eve was flawed from the beginning. Eve is Eve! you choose to accept the rule set and play it, not bend them to your playstyle. Ofc the consumer base can put forward balance ideas to improve the game, but what you have suggested is *not* balance, but complete overhaul of the game to accomodate your playstyle, at the sacrifice of everyone else that accepted the terms that is Eve Online.

I mean while we are at it, lets just take away the sandbox, and make it themepark....

To the guy who keeps mentioning T1 barge survivability: keep in mind that these are T1 ships, and as such are (1) cheap and (2) fully insurable. Losing a retriever with T2 strips is probably not much different from losing a Thrasher with T2 artillery from the financial perspective.

I completely agree that hulks can, and should, tank. I completely agree that miners should maintain situational awareness. However, we cannot say that all mining ships should tank.

Also, given that warp in points can be provided by a cloaked ship to deliver ganking ships within point range on ships that will die regardless of tank for which there is no situational awareness that will prevent dying from this.

Mining barges are sheep. Some can be found with curly horns for defense that will suffice against npc wolves, but lets be serious. Bighorn sheep are no different from woolly lambs when the wolves are equipped with rifles.

Give the orca a mid-slot module (industrial command ship only) that provides 200 kms protection against warp ins (i.e. reverse bubble, any attempt to warp to the ship drops the incoming ship at 200 kms and decloaks them. Now the sheep have some time to run

Balderdash. Again. "It's just a sandbox." / "This game isn't for you." (Inferring there's a right way and a wrong way.) As the OP said, ganking Hulks is sanctioned by CCP. Miners, as a result, are sanctioned victims. The game is TILTED in favor of criminal behavior by CCP's variables calibration. That same calibration, without "changing" the game, could even things up, or favor the miner. That CCP has skewed the game in this direction, and refuses to UNskew it only proves whose side they're on.

PvP isn't the point of EVE. Calling ganking miners "PvP" is like calling wearing your daddy's shoes "being grown up." If you all were such badasses, you'd be where actual well-fitted, amply-skilled combat pilots roam, taking your chances on your own skills. The fact you're NOT doing this is proof you CAN'T. If you can swim, what're you doing in the wading pool.

Sell this smack to some blind, deaf, fool.

People kill hulks for profit. Incidently the hulk pilot is a player and the gank pilot is a player which means it is pvp. Same as how selling stuff in jita is pvp. PVP is the backbone of EVE.

Oh, my fellow CFC comrade, I think she meant that "real PVPers" should go out and fight "real pvpers" in ships meant for PVP. Seriously, all pvpers ganking miners for profit and calling yourselves "Pvpers" make me laugh so hard I fall outta my chair.
Go fight another cruiser or destroyer or just somethign with "REAL GUNS". hmmm, blasters vs. mining lasers???? lmao
OMG, you are so incredibly brave!!!! get your self out there in Venal and let's go kill NCDOT and Raiden and leave the damn miners alone. Did you geniuses ever figure out we could actually use them to build us ships?
Let me guess, too hard to comprehend.
TEST ALLIANCE IS THE "BEST ALLIANCE" . sorry my dearest CFC friend. pvp vs a pvp ship is 'REAL PVP". fighting a silly barge or an exhumer makes you a "big chicken little" in my book.

I like doing the same thing and expecting a different result every time too.

Watch_ Fred Fred Frederation_ and stop cryptozoologist! Fight against the brutal genocide of fictional creatures across New Eden! Is that a metaphor? Probably not, but the fru-fru- people will sure love it!
