wasn't this the big fear about 2 months ago? I seem to recall an almost identical story saying it would happen march 28th

It is possible. The main idea is that someone hacked the DNS part of Windows. So people with hacked DNS Windows OS will have to reinstall Windows and hopefully Microsoft has the patch that will make this particular hack unusable, apply the patch. Problem solved.

Or you can use Live CD to do your internet stuff... whatever it might be... Pirate

Well since they have control of the temporary DNS servers it shouldn't be hard for them to inform each and every one of the infected computer users what is going on.

Now if the users understand what they are reading is a different matter.
