How to regain trust from agents with bad (-2) standings

When you reach a standing of -2 with a particular agent, effective standing will suddenly drop from something high (the highest of your agent, corp or faction standing) to -2 and you get this message:

I’m sorry pilot, but you do not have the required standings to receive any missions from me. You will need to raise your standings by doing missions for lower-ranked agents. Use the Agent Finder to locate agents that are available to you.

But, running missions for other agents of the same corp has no effect on standings for other agents of said corp so how do can you possible regain trust with an agent?

o.0

not sure if troll.....

what the hell, I'll toss in a little something

by raising standings with the corp itself, which then raises the collective standings of all agents under that corp to the level (or down to) the standings of the corp.

if you're -4, you're stuck grinding L1s or hoping for someone that will let you get standings off their L4s.

Which of those 3 standings dropped to -2? i.e. do you now have -2 in agent, corp or faction standing?

As far as I know only faction standing at -2 will make other standings meaningless, and shut off access to all agents in that faction, except for level 1 agents.

If that is your problem, then training Diplomacy can be quick fix, unless you already have it at level 5.

A lot more information about how to fix bad faction standings:

Faction standings and corp standings are still good. Only agent standing is at -2 and it has become the effective standing for said agent. Running missions for other agents of said corp change nothing.

Good thing is I didn't mess up an important agent but tried this on an unimportant L2 agent to see what happened (I have been close with other agents before) and it seems impossible to fix by running missions for other agents lower or higher in level.

as op pointed out that's only true as long as the agent standing is > -2.

e.g.:

faction: 6
corp: 5
agent: 5.5
=> effective standing 6

faction: 6
corp: 5
agent: -2
=> effective standing -2

sadly I don't have an answer to op's question.

Does Diplomacy affect negative agent standings?

Unless it was changed in a patch at some point, you should get personal standings with an agent if you're in a fleet, and the mission owner shares rewards with fleet.

So, if you have an agent at -2, then get someone else to take missions from that agent, fleet up, share the rewards, and it should increase your standings with that agent.

It does, so it should be possible to save your ass a few time as long as you have levels left to train.

Thanks. I haven't tried it but I see no reason why they would have changed it. Should still work.

An old thread, which has helped a lot of people from what I remember.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.
