Is it wrong to go with T1 warfare links relative to their T2 counterparts? It's only an extra .5% performance

The ISK is by far the least important factor, the only factor on if people are using T2 links or not is if they have the skill for it. And keep in mind that the 0.5% bonus gets MUCH larger once it gets multiplied by the bonuses.

However, if you don't know these things already, you might want to hold off on being a fleet booster and learn a bit more about it first.

Any good resources/articles on fleet boosting? I do find myself a bit confused by how much these effects are multiplied given all the types of boosting that can be used

T1 is 2% per lvl of spec, say lvl 4 = 8%
T2 is 2.5 per lvl and need lvl 5 spec = 12.5 %
Giving a bonus, i will be very glad do do my work +50% better just swapping a module to t2
Plus the possibility to fit a t2 warfare link open to the specialized implant ( another +50% and more )

So yes, totally worth it

This one is good http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/430571-eve-online/faqs/50762

It's dated as in not having T2 links, but explain how the whole thing works.

The performance difference is large. It's like the difference between using a Meta 0 turret and a faction turret.

does it matter?
anyone who is going to train leadership is going to train thr specs to 5 anyway so no reason not to use T2.

It's a lengthy train, but I feel it's worth it. Also, once you're specialize in one category you might as well pick a second to avoid overlap with corpmates.

Having T2 links is a nice boost, but what you are really training link spec(s) 5 for is the Mindlink. That implant is the biggest boost you're able to get for your links.
