Dust 514 beta keys are out - eve players not included.

I play Eve, I have a PS3 and I'm a PLUS member and I didn't receive a beta code. The thing to remember about Sony beta codes is that not everyone gets in on every beta. I may still receive a code or I might not. The thing is, I'm not really looking for one. Dust is a FPS and I can't play them due to motion sickness. If Dust was at least an over the shoulder shooter then I'd be interested.

Wait so dust is not going to be like eve and a never ending beta?

You expect us to believe that? you expect paying customers to file bug reports in eve and find / test them but you won't give out beta keys to dust? LOL okay.

Dust 514: Finally settling the PC vs console debate. Also Wii, if you count Move support.

My take on the PSN+ thing is that it was probably just for surveying. Seeing if PSN+ content/discounts would be viable for the future, or something.

Just bought a PS3 for $150. Even if Dust is bad, it's a decent purchase as I pretty much only use my 360 (and therefore XBL) for streaming netflix.

I'll admit it, at first I was a little "wtf" at that. Checked my mail as soon as I heard that Beta videos were being leaked and didn't see anything, was like "Huh. Well that's disappointing." Saw that eve-player/fan-festers didn't get the initial 5000 keys and was a little irked.

Then I saw a video on youtube of a guy who literally compared it to Halo and treated it like it was just another FPS.

So I realized: I wasn't angry that I didn't get a beta-key, I wasn't upset that Eve-players/fan-festers didn't get the keys, I was just discouraged that it was given to people who don't know anything about it and haven't done their research into what it is. Just a bunch of guys who saw the icon and decided to give it a shot, then compare it to everything they already have instead of understanding what it is.

Bought my Playstation 3 two days ago because they said that the keys would be released in April. I dunno, not so much disappointed with how it played out as to ignorance of the people who -are- playing it and not appreciating it for what it is.

EDIT: For the record I'm also severely bi-polar.

The one video I did see kinda made me rage, which is pretty rare. The guy was clearly a douche and I can't fathom how he is a part of 'Sony's core group of beta testers'.

Another thing that irks me is the timeline of 'Sony beta testers -> EVE Fanfest attendees -> People who actually signed up and wanted to be in the beta. Surely it should just be 'EVE Fanfest attendees + those who signed up' since the distinct impression I got was that a lot of Fanfest codes won't be used, so there should be plenty of room.

I guess I'm just annoyed as I've been genuinely excited for this game since it was announced all those years a go, I've had a PS3 for even longer and I've participated in a lot of betas and some alphas, real ones, not the 2 weeks before release demos. I've been playing multiplayer FPS for a decade now and from that experience I know how to give good feedback and I really want to, because I'd like to see Dust really succeed.
