I was once accused of being a spy because I joined corp right before it went to war with another corp I was a member until a couple of months ago.

It definitely helped proofing myself loyal that I blew up my former corpmates during that war....Cool

Corp thieves often times get black listed. Steal from the wrong people and they will commit alot of resources to see to it that character cant play the game with out getting harassed.

Um, shouldn't a corp that recruits you:

(1) Check with the diplo officer of your previous corp and

(2) Not give you full access to corporate resources and information until you've been in the Corp for a trial period?

... because that's pretty standard. What are you doing to these people that are causing them to assume you're a spy beyond the standard precautions? Is one of your old corps in Goonfleet or something?

I cant help but feel I'd have been recruited now had I just lied and said I was a noob.

You imply that they actually believe you are a spy. There are plenty of players who simply don't know how to send somebody his way in a polite manner.

This is actually very true. Many recruiters feels uncomfterbale turning down a recruit, especially since many will try to argue in defense of them selfes. So stating something like "Your a spy" is a very easy way to just say no,and block you from their public channel without anyone questioning the recruit.

But without hearing the recruiters side of the story i cant say for sure that its something like this that happend. Its very common that people create new characters when returning to the game,or spend months in an NPC corp (this second one is a warning flag but in general people will believe you if you say you simply couldent play). But its possible that you said other things or gave an impression that you had..altenate (think thats how you say it in english) motives and that enforced the suspicion they had.

The things you said might sound fine to you,but remember that everyone thinks differently and word them selfes differently then you do. Heck even a language barrier can cause it. I know that i have been told several times that i come across as cold and angry when i talk to people that arent used to my accent or how i formulate a sentance.

But be patient with the recruiters. Keep being honest with them and explain that you are a returning player. Let them know that you are more then willing to just hang around and chat for a few days so they can get to know you. And you might also want to check weather or not the corp/alliance your applying to is in a war since this is going to make any recruiter a bit more paranoid (unless you are looking into one of the classic 0.0 alliances that always are in a few wars and couldent care less Smile ).

I wish you the best of luck and i hope you will find a recruiter and corp that is willing to give you a chanse.

The Skunkworks is 96% spies and 4% alts. And 100% corp thieves.

Somehow it works.

Who would hire someone called Cosmic Tycoon?

Wait ... no one?

Carry on then.

But seriously, it sounds like you're joining ****** corps. You can offer your full API as a means to verify you were unsubscribed on that account, but I am doubting they'd know how to determine that.

Any corp or alliance that does not admit spies into its ranks has no members at all.

Its all about layering security.

If they wont let you in because they think you are a spy, yet you've handed over your api and whatever else they've asked of you, just find another corp to join.
