They are gun shy about the beta, the minute they let EVE players into it it's going to be happy times at the grief factory and we all know it. If we can make EVE masochist leave in droves what do you think were going to do to console FPS players.

I can care less about the keys, and wont buy a ps3 just to play DUST.

However, I can understand why the OP might be annoyed. This is primarily due to the fact that CCP has been quoted at Fan Fest and elsewhere that EVE players would be some of the first to get the keys.

beta keys and people who registered for the beta will come to the eve guys soon enough ... they may have been given the keys but on the dust web site the part where you register the key is still down ...

...you know. tbqh if I were running CCP I wouldn't want the EvE bittervets to s*** up the new FPS community right away either. I mean lets face it... particularly to the uninitiated the whining and complaining on our forums appear kind of toxic. ...plus hearing about someone who was playing the beta and already got scammed out of everything might be press DUST isn't ready for yet.

FF keys were in the goodie bag at Fanfest. EVE players don't get keys until later. I rate this thread -1/10

I distinctly recall being told in a thread by a Dev somewhere that EvE players would have first shot at the beta of DUST.

What the ****? Is this a failure by CCP or a mis fire by SONY? I was under the impression that eve players got first dibs. Or at least they would be included in the first wave. The game may be free, but will it really be? Or people will have to be subscribers of PLUS to play it latter on?

Because, well, if beta is only for PLUS members, the beta is kinda of "paid for".

Completely forgot about PLUS. aw sonofabitch. If PLUS is mandatory I'd be kinda pissed.
First it' was a one time fee for d/l but then free... AUR for custom items.
Currently the idea was completely free... AUR for custom items.
Plus would be what? $50 a year. Not much per month speaking, but CCP better try a deal like PLEX for PLUS If PLUS is mandatory.

In other words, the first 5000 keys are not for EvE Players, Fanfest attendees or otherwise. They are for Sony testers to test things prior to going into the next beta phase.

I can confirm that all those at Fanfest got Closed Beta Keys.

I tried Dust 514 at fanfest, it looked good. I just could not get to grips with how a gamepad is supposed to work Ugh

But then at my age I am not a reflex twitch player nor do I own a Games Console. Add to the fact the only friends and colleagues who I know have game consoles all have the WII Fit for its fitness & gym workouts programmes.

So the Beta key was the only item from Fanfest that went into the bin when I got home!
