Just a silly, goofy, pointless thought that would be interesting. A drone based mining ship, I mean, like a bees nest basically. With a skill bonus to number of drones usable. Just a thought, probably silly. Any thoughts.

That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter used by carriers.

Umm Vexor?

10% bonus to drone hitpoints, damage and mining yield per skill level.

I think it would be cool, but pretty much useless.

Interesting...so when the gankers hit you, they can then scoop all ten of your T2 mining drones, sell them, and not lose money on the destroyers with which they ganked you! BRILLIANT!

Second, even if all those drones, combined, mined the same amount as a Hulk, you would still take a hit to efficiency. The drones have to fly back and forth between your ship and the asteroid in question, which wastes time, and time is money.

Last but not least, belt rats *will* pop some of your drones. I haven't mined in years, but I recall that they moved like old people ****, which makes them vulnerable to randomly-appearing belt rats.
