Hm... Doing something to specifically cause either lag or server crash is a bannable offense, has been for quite some time, and continually enforced by CCP. How would they know? Because with any halfway decent programmer, when the system crashes they get a nice little report of what was going on so they can fix the crash. Just like how CCP finds RMT's, and people who buy isk. CCP isn't stupid guys.

Like if you were to jettison 5k corpses to blot out someone's overview and cause their client (or server) to lag, that is banable.

But it is extremely unlikely that there will be a (lawl) alliance wide ban happening. The server will crash, CCP will announce that said action is a bannable offense, give out warning, and if people continue to proceed, will be banned. Same as with any other situation. CCP is not going to step up and protect Jita, they are going to protect the integrity of their game (ie not allowing people to cause the game/system to lag/fail intentionally).

Again you're assuming that we would go out of our way to crash a system for the hell of it. The filth still don't get it. Taking Jita offline would make it impossible for us to murder you all. We want to cause as much misery and destruction as possible in Eve Online, not staring at the login screen.

As for your second part there. CCP has allowed nodes to crash and degrade plenty of times. There's not a whole lot they can do about players going where they will without turning Eve into WoW. That's why they implemented TiDi, so that when players are doing things that hammer the hardware it doesn't take the game offline.

You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.

Eve-Online's pubbie population has proven time and time again that they're willing to go the extra mile when it comes to raging about goons. Some of them are even willing to try ruining a goon's life outside of the game.

Ahh, TiDi, it is going to be so much fun watching freighters pop in slow motion on the 28th.

CTRL-Click freighter victim, go make coffee, come back press F1, tab out and work on code for a half hour, tab back in watch first five minutes of freighter exploding, tab out more code, tab back in half hour later watch concord blap me, etc...

If it wasn't for the fact that half of EVE watched said Goon start the meta-mud-throwing by encouraging people to do things that would kinda ruin another players life outside of the game. I'd kinda care for your argument.

If the guy never considered that leading a bunch of teenagers and adult internet spaceship captains – in a game that promotes what EVE promotes – would turn on him when behaving like he did. Then I think whatever college he graduated from owes him some tuition fees back.

Maybe now we can go back to the topic. A bunch of EVE players playing EVE how they want. Who cares what their real life motives are.

Pubbies have been crapping on goons harder than any other group of players, aside from Russians, far longer than that instance of Mitten's drunken assholery. Calls to mass ban us over trivial nonsense have been going on for over four years now.

But I agree let's get this topic back on track. Predicting a typical CCP-like unexpected bug in TiDi allows us to blap an ISD member's Polaris frigate resulting in the GMs reacting in a completely over the top manner.

Burn Jita was originally going to happen to celebrate Mittani getting >10000 votes for CSM.

I know right? Most of the player's in this game can barely even figure out the correct usage of punctuation. How one of them managed to find the phone number of a certain goon's ex-employer and call them up to crap on him is beyond me.

Another threads insinuating blanket bans of every player in an alliance a particular player or group of players dislike. Why does high-sec pubbie filth continually imagine that 0.0 alliances are hive minds where every player does exactly the same thing. Many members of the Clusterfuck Coalition will be in Jita strangling the system, not all of us will be; but let's just go ahead and ban them all anyway. Collateral damage am I right? Its okay if it happens to people who happen to play in an alliance I dislike for nebulous reasons I can't quantify.

Maybe you should have a talk with Jade Constantine. Seems he was / is in the same predicament and can offer advice on how to handle it.

Also would be nice if people who think this kind of crap is acceptable to get their computers taken away from them. They should get the same treatment as a convicted hacker who get's thrown off of the Net for a couple of years.
Maybe then a sense of reality might seep in again into their pityfull lives.

That certainly is a possibility as well.

My guess is, they'll re-instate the 1200-or-something hard cap on people in local, which they did back when they were testing the new nodes and mechanics of having chat and other stuff on a different node than the rest of the solar system.

Then, traffic jam. Nobody leaves, nobody new enters.

Nope. That is what you might like to imply I am saying.

I personally think anyone pushing it that far should get locked up permamnently, because I see no reason to let such people participate in a society they clearly don't fit in or want to fit in.

Regardless of whom they target. As soon as you go over that line your balls should get nailed to the wall as hard as possible by the law.

Anyone threatening to afflict real life actions towards another person over or through a game isn't only a threat towards that person, but towards anyone by whom he or she might feel wronged at some point.
Lock up, throw away the key if they refuse to work on changing.

This applies towards the ones targetting Jade just as much as the ones targetting Mittens in real life.

I hope you see clearly where I am comming from.
