Ok, As some of you may know. There was once a beutiful thing called mines in Eve online.

These explosive little buggers where all that you think it was but did cause tremendous lag back in the days that lag really was a problem.

Today, with tidi, I would suggest bringing mines back.

Please discuss. I'm in a hurry and will go a bit further explaining why when I get back home.

Cheers

Mines had another problem too. If you forget where you left them, they can greatly irritate Concord.

And just because TiDi helps with lag doesn't mean that it would help enough for masses of mines everywhere to be practical.

As long as there was a mechanism to prevent them from being spammed (maybe your ship has mine links and they are only active once on grid. As soon as you leave they would be disconnected. Just like drones, but let you use the mines while cloaked)

Bubble Spam is Annoying as it is laggy.

Maybe Mine types could be like Bombs, even with a dedicated ship.
EM Mine
Thermal Mine
Kinetic Mine
Explosive Mine
Cloakbreaker Mine (Would have to only have one active at a time, maybe 10-20KM AoE)
Neut Mine (Same as Cloakbreaker Mine except less nerf, small AoE)

Or Restrict them to null, like bubbles.

The other problem is the same problem that affected DD, AoE torps and the like. That an alliance could just spam them everywhere, making any form of offense impossible. 400 people prelaying mines around an entry gate, imagine.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

Maybe 10KM AoE and 15-25KM Min Anchor Distance from other Mines?
