+1 MILLION internets to you Phantom

Disclaimer: Internets are non-transferrable. Internets are also non-redeemable on any goods and/or services.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

cool stuff

also a nice demonstration of the limited usefulness of the progress bar displaying multiple "miscellaneous" effects ;)

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

As long as the original icons next to the name in the overview stay as well, i have no problem seeing this implemented, but if those icons get replaced because of this then ill be shooting something in jita soon.
This is in no way faster to recognize who is ewaring you, because you have to hover over the icon first. It is also not faster to lock someone who is ewaring you, because again you have to navigate through 123 dropdown menues, instead of ctrl leftclicking someone in your overview. Theres also the scenario that you want to know who is warpscrambling you, but not do anything against it, because your mouse cursor is busy doing other things, like navigating in space and ****.
As i see it, in those huge blobfest fights, this changes nothing, it doesnt matter who ewars you when there are 1000 maelstroms alphaing your ****. In small fights, having the icons next to the names on the overview, where you should be looking anyway to see distances and ****, is superior to this change.

So please, dont remove the icons on the overview.

Please Don't Forget about the BUFF aspect of this whole thing.

If it is not to late, add icons that represent Shield Transporters, Armor Repairers and Cap Transfers.

If you do this, you will forever receive a fruit basket this time every year until the end of time.

I bloody love this!!!11ONE

but if I may,

If this is mentioned somewhere else, do let me know but imma let me finish...

Hows about on the overview, when Xpilot points me I want Xpilot's overview bar to turn flashy green to let me know who is pointing me at the glance of an eye, his range and transversal etc...

So in fights where range control is needed or just in general, you can see that a) your pointed b) the enemies range and all the other stuff you choose to have on your overview

So it would look something like this

It would be much nicer than that as I used MS paint, but it illustrates my point.

Webbing, Neuting and nosing etc could be sorted and prioritised by the player, so for example, If I am being pointed and nos'ed, the bar would be green instead of the colour corresponding to the less important nos.

Feel free to call me out on this if it has been mentioned or implemented some how, but tried to do this ages ago and it didn't work.

Fantastic step forward. I still wish there were audible alerts with it (on/off configurable of course), but this is certainly endlessly better than the current system.

+1 to the original poster that suggested allowing for ctrl-click of the name in the menu to lock the target.

This is an interesting addition to the UI and it will be fun to put it through Tranquility testing when released.

The only concern that I have is that the additional client functionality does not cause performance issues either locally or server-side. Any delay or hiccup that occurs during PvP can mean doom or victory depending on who experiences the glitch.

This is an excellent addition. Well done, very simple and elegant, extremely useful. I love the love the UI has been receiving lately, it has made a huge difference to me.

Great!

Suggestion: The circular IU component (with all of its little components) could be improved by allowing players to put it where they like.

This is because I play Eve on 2 screens, and the UI is off to one side and gets chopped in half by the monitors' edges.

I really don't want to have to scroll over something to see who is doing what to me. Typically I know when I am being webbed or scrammed, the important information is the source of the effect, not the effect itself.

That's a pretty sweet new feature.

A really awesome tweak would be if you could ctrl-click on the names that appear when you right click the icon to target the hostile. Anything that reduces the number of nested menus required in combat would be really good.

Also this:

I'd really like to see warp scrambling and warp disrupting seperated out into different icons - the 2 effects are very different nowadays. Other than that, cool for a first iteration.

Max Cool

The first one would require some changes to the menus (affecting all of them)... of course something that "could" be done, but something we would really need to think about since it's not an isolated change for the Effects Bar.

The second one... I'll suggest that to Team Five O, which just borrowed me to implement this and really owns this going forward. This is not a change that I would want to do at this point, simply because I am not sure what other consequences that could have.

Great addition BUT please add:

It might also be handy to move the duration of effects you're under to a circular timer around the module type, rather than the bars. Oh, also maybe a icon if you're in a bubble?

THIS!!

TommyBlue wrote:

Maybe not in the first iteration of this, but I think it would really good to have a summation of each individual effect placed at the bottom right of each icon. Say, for example, that you are pointed by 2 scrams and 1 disrupter. In the bottom right you would have a 5. Or if you are being webbed by a few different people with different webs, it could sum the total % of slow. That saves you having to count each one.

And THIS!!!

Nice to see this type of thing is getting love. It is most important!

Just to address some of the comments:

- we wanted to put counter on the icons, but knew when we started the implementation that we would not have time for more than the basics... get this ewar info to you, and allow for some interaction with the attackers through the icons

- we cannot simply "ctrl"+click on the icons to target back because the icons do not represent one pilot... they represent that this effect is being applied to you and there can be 10 players that are behind that icon.

but please keep the ideas coming. We do have designs for feature, but I think it's great to get this out now, as it is, to get feedback from you guys on where you would like to take it Smile

As an ECM capable pilot, I deplore these changes on the ground that in fleet fights, I will now be killed regardless of whether I am in the shiny scorpion, falcon, and rook. The sneaky sneaky ECM drake (or other "sneaky sneaky" ship) is no longer viable

Seriously, though, I'm used to being primary target for ECM, and this effect bar will be so great in so many ways, you are a bawss for putting it together. I just hope team Five 0 going forward takes their inspiration from your bawsness.

Right click menus suck in combat. Please implement a control-click to target the aggressors of each particular ewar category. Yes, that's sometimes more than you can actually target, that's fine.
