Freighter cargo

So.... could anybody explain to me, why there is a 65.000 m3 cargo capacity difference, between the Minmattar Fenrir and the Caldari Charon?

I WANT to fly the Fenrir, but i would be stabing myself in the hand if i did, seeing as the difference is even 81,250 m3, when skill is at level 5, which is just huge.

Because the fenrir has better agility than the charon.

Ungi maðurinn þekkir reglurnar, en gamli maðurinn þekkir undantekningarnar. The young man knows the rules, but the old man knows the exceptions.

...and it is faster

Once you skill up all the ships have a bay bigger than the normal load so the slightly smaller but faster ship can be better.

True this, and yes it is faster.

It doesn't make that much difference unless you do fairly long runs in it, but it does add up to a quicker trip over time... especially if you autopilot.

That's odd, I thought they all warped at 0.75au/s.

Edit: Those few seconds difference while waiting to reach warp can really add up over time. If I want to warp faster I could just have someone else web me though.

Once they attain warp speed the speed is the same. Some ships attain warp faster than others.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

See the Ships & Modules section. I.e. Most sold freighters

Mind you.. putting 'fast' and 'freighter' in one sentence is still a silly thing to do.

Still.. I love my Fenrir's 'speed'.

Does railgun ammunition come in Hollow Point?

Depending what you're flying, the Charon's extra storage might well be worthless. With the gank threshold being as low as it is, unless you're hauling exclusively low value, high volume good, I wouldn't even bother getting the Charon. Fenrir speed will likely be far more useful.

Thank the GODS this thread is about Freighters.

Not too much room for argument here. Smile

if you carry more then 1bil of stuff in a freighter your asking to be suicide ganked... so you won't use the space anyway

even still you must be carrying a lot of crap to care about 80k m3

all the freighters have an advantage in some way

Providence has the best tank and best looks, bascally a rebel transport from star wars.
charon most capacity
obelisk is well rounded but you also can use the itteron 5 which has something like 50k capacity, the most of any industrial ship
the fenrir is the fastest and looks like a sand crawler from star wars.

Freighters can haul a battleship, which an Orca cannot. You only need to make a courier contract and accept it through your corp and can move it as a package.

I want to say I read somewhere they are working on getting rid of the web exploit for frieghtor,, pretty hard to get rid of though something that's built in to the fundamentals of eves ship workings for a long time

It's not an Exploit, it's a Mechanic.

And just WHERE did you read this ? Doubtful this is being looked at, as they are more concerned with true exploits like the Boomerang.

80K matters a lot when you're hauling minerals at 0.01 m3 each.
And for the suicide gankers, you have mates for that, spider tanking works brilliantly.
