I find the horrid aspect to be the sheer number of people in the world today who won't take responsibility for their own actions and who raise their children to feel the same way. The rampant attitude of entitlement is sickening. Let's look at the facts:
1) You violated the EULA by sharing an account.
2) Your son, for whom you are responsible, violated the EULA by RMT.

Your response? "I shouldn't be punished. Punishing me is unfair."

I suppose the reason that the son doesn't play by the rules is because the role model parent has the attitude that rules don't apply to him. Sadly, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

In a nutshell.

Jesus Christ the lack of general respect is just shocking these day. You sir clearly need a morality check..

Allowance? Geez. Have the kid mow a few yards. Kids should mow yards for money. Gives 'em time to think. Think about what? Lotsa stuff. Plus, the kid gets the added benefit of seeing something he's accomplished. Hell, gender equality and all? No reason girls can't mows yards, too. It's good for 'em.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

I feel a 0 balance would have been much fairer or at least not soul destroying. Its not like he made anything out of buying some ISK to get a ship, hell take the darn ship..

So you could instanlty launder this illegaly purchased ISK by buying goods, such as ships etc.

Then when CCP catch you, instead of taking 300mil from your account and leaving you with a negative wallet, they take the remailing 10k ISK thats in your wallet, and set you to 0 ISK.

You are happy because you have all your ships and have not really been punished.

Your 'fairer' solution is crap.

You did a bad thing by supporting RMTers and buying illegal ISK, and you should feel bad.

So either the OP is using his "son" as an excuse or he's showing his son that if you whine enough and claim ignorance you can get out of any situation.

Deal with it.

You see, we don't need a "Scarlet Letter" for people caught RMTing... they will happily come to the forums and humiliate themselves all on their own. Smile

People who cheat by buying online currency for real money are despicable in any MMO but especially so in EVE as CCP provides for a way to do this legally yet these cheap assholes decide to **** up the economy only to save a few pennies.

Take the advice. Dock your son the cost of a plex for 'diminishing' your game experience.

If he crashed your car would you not make him pay for it?

If he broke your TV wouldn't you make him pay for it?

This is the same thing. Make him pay for 'breaking' your game. He messed up. He fixes it.

Teach your son some responsibility and some 'morality.'

My main toon has contracted a negative balance Im shocked to find today after subbing back to EVE after a lengthy break. For myself, the owner of the account since beta, have never purchased ISK illegally but find after grilling my kid, he had indeed purchased some isk last year. As the account holder I have to take responsibility I guess. But the punishment..Ohh my.!!!

Clearly you don't beat your kids enough.

If letting my now 18 year old son use MY account on MY computer is against EVE policy then CCP have truly gone way to far..

Lets see what they have to say. I wont post anymore because clearly asking for help is the wrong thing to do these days. Perhaps I should have yelled fire and got a more positive response.

Also, someone offered a reasonable and legit solution to this. so I would take it.

Dude I'm 43 and even I think your whining.... had you done even a modicum of research then you could have solved your problem easily, instead you came here, admitted you shared your account and someone living under your roof broke the rules and you expect what.... sympathy ? - it has little to do with the state of the community here, to be honest you sound like your trolling.

OP is a half-decent troll, but he should have paid attention to previous dev posts on the topic. They've said they're not going to go back very far at all due to the manpower involved, especially as it would mean current offenders would be getting away with it. They've also recently reversed that position slightly, by stating they're going back as far as February this year.

8/10, but would have scored 9 if he'd claimed his "son" broke the rules after Feb of this year.

No, your rights end in optimal+2*falloff

one question, how did you not notice an extra 300 mill laying around your toon or at least some new expensive shiney stuff apearing from nowhere?

The claim is:
He was no longer playing eve, for quite some time and in that time, his son ( who was on the same IP address ) was RMTing on his own account.

Don't know how much weight the claim has or could have, or if IP addresses are even relevant, but that was the claim.

Now, could one of the dev's possibly lock this thread? i don't think there's much more useful that can be said here.

Think about it and think carefully, and when you realize the answer you will in fact see that a huge number of people in this thread massively fail in the reading comprehension department.

Story is too elaborate to be true tbqfh. Liars tend to overcomplicate things when they tell stories.

More likely scenario is:

Dude bought ISK, blames his "son" (who we don't even know exists) got caught and is now sorry he got caught so he's looking for forum sympathy.

Also, it is not "YOUR" account, the account and all its contents belong to CCP. If you think that "the world has stooped" somewhere, then you should've read the EULA prior to agreeing to it. Because you are only paying for the right to play the game by the games' rules. (which you self-admittedly broke)

Also all this high-horse bullshit "Oh, forumites are so disrespectful"-nonsense is so full of pseudo-righteous indignation it's not funny, take your passive aggressive nonsense someplace else. On forums like these you will get treated by your words, which frankly have left you wanting.

Next time you make a booboo, don't vent it in front of an audience, they will never take your side. Because bullshit is smelt a mile away.

You obviously pay 1 or more subs of $15 a month...

Yet you can solve this debt issue with a single one time $20 purchase.

And your moaning on these forums why exactly.....

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!

Heh, I expected that you had a debt of tens of billions. -300 mil... seriously? If you play this game since beta you can earn that amount in a day? If not, buy a GTC or plex and you're done.

Accept the fact that you made a mistake and don't whine about CCP's righteousness on the forums.
