EVEnews24, but it's very biased, so maybe more like Fox.

Takes a bit of surfing and discerning, but the best site for eve political news is a site that starts with www.kug and ends with utsumen.com...

just to test if theyre still censoring the site on the forums if I type it directecly: www.kugutsumen.com

edit: yep. still censored.

I hear Fox News is fair and balanced regarding all things political.

as has been mentioned before - the EVE Online Uncensored subforum on kugutsumen.com is your best bet as many of the actual actors post their view of events and their propaganda there.

for a (maybe?) less polemic account of events you can try the War & Politics board on failheap-challenge.com; shc used to be a good source for battlereports but I don't know if fhc has managed to continue that tradition.

if you read russian eve-ru.com is apparently good as well - due to the language barrier the rest of the eve universe has only a hazy understanding of what's going on in its russian corner and you usually can't count on English sites/forums to give you accurate information.

EN24 is just regurgitating whatever "news" is fed to them. Occasionally entertaining but usually a few days behind current events and extremely little original content.

biased against the very idea of quality journalism

EN24 doesn't really have a political bias (other than being pro brick squad but who cares about brick squad anyways?) - they are happily printing any trash you send in as long as there is a slight hope it might get them pageviews.
Some alliances just don't care about having their view of events published there and EN24 staff won't go out of their way to solicit alternate opinions.
It's similar to how some alliances try to ignore kugu; they tell their members to stay away from kugu and then complain how nobody represents their views on kugu (that was a favorite theme of IT Alliance).

Kugu requires some effort and patience.

en24 is "good enough", and will give you a decent picture of what's going on, though it is slower and spottier than kugu.

Edit: k, just got up, sorry. ":accurate and in depth" is kugu. That's it.

Biased towards anyone who Riverini doesn't like. He's a sad bitter Panamanian who runs the site and tried to leverage it into a CSM seat (unsuccessfully). He especially hates goons, seems to also dislike the Russian alliances, and tends to find childish ways to go after whoever he doesnt like. My utter lack of respect for him makes going to the site rather hard. If you're looking for honest assessment of 0.0 politics then EN24 is not for you. His skills with the English language are quite lacking also.

Best way to keep up on things is to look around kugu and try to piece it together yourself.

Frankly, Evenews24 is biased toward getting CCP to implement a "drop da panties butan".

Not only are they bad, but they did several articles in favour of RMTs and later published lists of what they believed to be players doing RMT... They only give me headaches and I rather have a woman crap in my face than to read another article on their site.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

It's pretty limited to 0.0 events, and a 0.0 perspective. I can't find it now, but i'm sure i even remember one of the submission guidelines being that they aren't interested in hisec events. Which is unusual, because that's where the majority of players are, and where most player created news occurs. it seems to be mainly used by 0.0 players to shame their victims and boast about their accomplishments, but much like KMs, no one really cares except those who were involved

Although, they're a good source for CCP related news. Tracking dev comments and whatnot, along with anything related to upcoming changes/patches. I'll give them that.

Also, what the above posters mentioned.

actually from my POV EN24 went through several phases

first, they just cross-posted stuff from kugu (often without the original author's permission) with 1-2 days delay

then, they tried to focus on actual journalism: providing original content, fleshing out intel leads into full stories, ...
The only problem was that their writers were terrible at English and lacked basic journalistic skills (as in "how do I structure an article?", "what formats of articles are there?", "opinion vs fact", ...) - if only there was a decent online reference/guide one could use for orientation....Roll
During that time EN24 had at least one editor who could actually write English but having him rewrite each story before publication lead to huge delays and was unfeasible.

finally, they realized that the less of their own writing showed up in their stories, the better the reception by readers.
So they turned EN24 into an aggregator of various eve-related blogs, started posting news leads as "raw intel" without any journalistic follow up and concentrated on crossposting battle reports from various outside sources. Nowadays most content is user submitted and very little is written by EN24 staff.
On the positive side that means accusations of political bias introduced by EN24 staff are usually overblown.

I'm sorry, but "accurate" and "political information" are terms that rarely ever cross paths with one another.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Any News Site about a Game is going to be biased by it's very nature. Derrrrrrr What?

For anything accurate, better luck monitoring Sov in DOTLAn.

Yeah, it's been said but I thought I'd reiterate, Evenews24's problem is that it pretty much has absolutely no idea what journalism really is, has virtually no vetting procedure for article submissions and just plasters up everything it gets without a second thought. Occasionally there'll be something decent up there, written by someone completely unrelated to EN24, but most of the time articles are clearly just lipsmacking exercises from would-be forum warriors. I've been hoping for awhile that as it grew it would mature into a more credible and legitimate source of information but this never happened.

Nothing clever at this time.
