Great trailer OP, although this is my favorite eve video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjbwsyhJjUs

I think a lot of new players get confused on "Why" we are here, and "What" is this place. That trailer is the best-ever-made intro to a game, period.

Also: reopen EVE wormhole in some future expansion, that would be just great

Causality is my favourite and it's basically what made me start playing. Though I'm digging the OP video, awesome narrator.

Do the missiles still launch off at an angle before straightening out?

or did we downgrade in realism?

er maybe space is different

I remember, years ago, watching those trailers, over and over, I couldn't get the newer ones to play on my 600MHz computer.

Good video but I didn't like it because it had some minor consistencies with the other versions of Eve lore.
Probably the better way to open the game in video format however.

Hmm.... I have never seen this one, got overlooked. Empyrean age is still my favorite.

"We will fight for what we believe in
We will take a stand
And our wrath WILL be furious"

The most memorable trailer line I can think of, It really is my favorite.

On that first one, maybe we need to organize a remake of it.... I will have to test my fraps out again I think...

This video right here, this is my absolute favorite...

Who knows what happened to the part of the universe the population of New Eden came from, maybe they wiped themselves out into extinction, or maybe they are more powerful and more dangerous now than ever...

These are really showing me a deeper backstory than I'd been aware of. I mean, I knew one existed, but it seems like in the early days they really wanted to create an RP feeling outside of just meta-gaming.

Fun stuff

Oh heck yeah. I have followed alot of the backstory, well all I can. The story in the background of eve is huge! Personally, of all purely video game storylines, eve has the best in my opinion.

I started playing just before Revelations II. This was the 2nd expansion I had experienced and watching this trailer brought a tear to my eye. It was like having new life breathed into this incredible universe I had just begun exploring. So this is still my favourite.

Jeezus feature trailer!

I miss the old 2005 trailer also, it was an epic beginning to an epic game.

Does anyone have a link to the trailer when EVE was still beta? It was simply a fight between a two kestrels outside a station I believe. There was something magic about it and it's what made me leave earth and beyond all those years ago.

Thank you very much, it's hard to believe that was from a full decade ago now but at the time it had my jaw on the floor and filled me with a sense of awe, still does seeing it again.

The advantage of a bad memory is that one can enjoy the same good things for the first time several times.

One will rarely err if extreme actions be ascribed to vanity, ordinary actions to habit, and mean actions to fear.

Are that gate jump effects in 1:01 ? They look much better than those we have now.

I think they were the original jump drive effects. :30 is the jump drive arrival effects methinks. I like the original landing effects better than the ones now IMHO.

Yeah, this is one of my favorites too. Combines the aggressiveness of piracy with the serenity and openness of deep space.

On a side note: the headgear on the Avatar at 1:14 was sweet. Forgot all about that. Now that's what a monocle should look like!
