I know it seems a little unlikely for it ever to be implemented but I think it would be cool if CCP would award characters level V's in skills that the USER holds a BA, MA, or PHD in.

So lets say user "John Doe" has two BA's.

John Does BA's.

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Bachelors of Science in Biology

  • Since John Doe has two BA's as stated above, he would be awarded level V in both skills of Biology, and Mechanical Engineering.

    So what do you think?

(To the little kids who say it isn't fair...go to bed.)

I think you're trolling, or just trying to tell us you hold at least one of those.

This is the wrong forum section. The area where you should post this in, is called Feature and Ideas Discussion.

They usually tell people there that an idea should never be implemented just because it sounds cool.

I will feed this troll by pointing out existence of certificates. You can satisfy your need for attention by training them up to elite level which should pump you ego enough.

In most cases a biology degree would be a BSc, not a BA

I hope you're going to scale it so that people with Maths/Physics/Engineering degrees get more than ones with Media/English/Women's StudiesBig smile

You do realise a Bachelors of Science isn't a BA, right?

One of the better imaginary posts lately tbh, but will never happen.

Pilots owning cars IRL should then also be getting extra SP in Spaceship Command for the sake of owning a car.

Extra SP in Missiles or Gunnery for having completed Army service.

And of course default 10% SP loss for living in your parents basement.

wtf? Hellno. Stop complaining that you don't have as much SP as someone from '05. They were in your shoes once.

How will my RL criminal record affect my in-game status? I am totally reformed - honest - and the warden assures me that I have a good case for parole at the next hearing (... as long as I don't admit to being an Eve-playing sociopath - but that's another thread).

That is completely unfair. I'm 30 for the record. It also doesn't make any sense for your character, to whom earth is just a legend, living in a time period many thousands of years after his player died of old age, to magically share skills with an ancient earthling. Also doesn't make sense that our primitive caveman knowledge would even be equivalent to level 1 of an Eve skill. It would also be a waste of development time for something you could already do with a bit of training time. I can't find any angle from which this idea doesn't look terrible. It's even in the wrong forum.

Don't be silly. It should be an SP bonus. I learn all kinds of stuff down here I never would have had time to learn if I had a job or a life. My right arm is getting really strong too.
