Lots of "ore respawn myths" in this thread.

We always strip the Pyroxeres in our system. No grooming what so ever.

And every day after downtime we log on to find more beautiful Pyroxeres rocks waiting for us.

Each rock has a respawn point and will be respawned after down time. This is what creates the illusion that "grooming" works.

it's more of a holdover from WAY back in the past when rocks spawned on Monday and Friday.

Depleted rocks respawned at (IIRC) minimum spawn volume (say the equivalent of 1-1.5 cycles) ... rocks that had a little ore left in them would grow at a somewhat accelerated rate.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Two quick questions :

1) Can an orca run two of the same link and add the bonuses- EFT shows the second has no effect...

2) With an Orca and a snigle T2 range mining link on an orca the max range is 25.6 - is there a way to get a survey
scanner to "see" that far?

Role Bonus:
250% bonus to Tractor Beam range
100% bonus to Tractor Beam velocity
500% bonus to Survey Scanner range
99% reduction in CPU need for Gang Link modules
Can use 3 Gang Link modules simultaneously

So yes, Orcas can run 3 simultaneously, I expect there's a stacking penalty just like everything else.
See the role bonuses as to how you can get the survey scanner to see that far.

The reason for the extended range is also useful in grav sites... WH sites have their roids spread all over, and it's useful to have one ship which can catch the quantities of ore from all over and determine which to go for.

according to EveHQ, you can only run one of each type at a time. But I've got no idea if that's actually accurate.

However, if it isn't, surely running the cycle time link multiple times is the most useful. More benefit, if you have the cap to support it.

As Jorma said about the survey scanner the Orca gets a bonus to scanners (500%).

And no you don't get any additional bonus for running more then one of the same gank link module. I'm not sure if you can even fit two of the same ganklink module, but regardless of if you can there is not any type of extra bonus.

only bonuses orca has to benefit mining yield is:

T2 gank link * mining director * industrial command ship * warfare link specialist * mindlink implant.
2.5 * 5 * 1.15 * 1.5 *1.5 = cycle time. or increase in range for mining lasers.

+ 15% mining yield

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the responses.

I wans't quite clear regarding question 2; with an Orca a Hulk can reach 25.6 Km out, but a survey scanner II only goes 22.5. Is there any way to extend the range oif a hulks scanner?
