Hi,

Thank you for contacting customer support.

I am afraid that we don't have the detailed information regarding the shipment at the moment. However, we will be contacting people who are responsible for this and we will let you know through this petition as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience.

Best regards,

Got a reply to my petition regarding the when and where..
"The graphic cards will be shipped by NVIDIA and from the US. I'm not exactly sure when they will be shipped so I have to get back to you on that, hopefully later today."
So there we go ladys and gents... get ready for a knock on the door from HMRC (If your in the uk)

Update... after a lengthy phone call to HRMC.. they informed me that there will DEFFO be VAT payable on this, of UP TO 20%, and if the item is valued over £135, then there is import tax on top. The valuation of the gpu is decided by the seller, in this case its either CCP or NVIDIA, and they will mark the package with the valuation. Then there is also a tax to pay to Royal Mail for opening and resealing the package (i think for customs), but i have yet to phone them to find out what that will be.

Meph

*EDIT - The Royal Mail charge is £8

In case the cards haven't shipped yet, it would be totally great if you guys at CCP could ask NVIDIA to ship the cards with EU destination from one of their offices or depots within the EU. This would save us so many headaches with customs and taxes.

So i guess in other words this promotion is a total disaster since we pay double the money that this card is worth not to mention that it will be shipped from the US and we need to a PAY a lot of money in europe and a lot more with TVA and customs taxes. So overall a big disappointment

Does this apply even if they're shipping it with FedEx or whatever?

Sounds right, I was expecting something around 50€ myself. It really depends on the value declared.

Btw didn't the cute guy in the video say that they would declare the value in PLEX and offer custom officials payment in ISK? Blink

It spoils the fun of the promotion a little, but they made it clear that the taxes would be our own responsibility. You still get a cool graphics card for internet spaceship money. Sure it would have been the better move by CCP to take care of this as well, given that taxes are such a very unfun and complicated thing, still no reason to be disappointed.

Royal Mail is uk only, i believe if your amaerican.. you will pay..... $0, as i was told by the gm who replied to my petition that the cards are being shipped from usa..

What i typed is only relavant to anyone from uk who won a card.. if your in europe.. i would highly advise you check with your own version of HRMC (ie customs) so that way.. you dont get a nasty suprise if your liable for vat in your country

No, I'm in the UK, but does RM handle packages sent through other companies? I thought not.

When i spoke to HRMC.. they mentioned Royal Mail personally.. and not any other company... i think its Royal mail who open any parcels/packages for customs to check... so as far as i am aware... its completly irrelavant who actually delivers the parcel to your door, either way.. there's an £8 fee to Royal Mail

US residents will most likely pay 0$ as ccp stated shipping is included in the price and cards are shipped from US.

EU residents will pay vat (around 20-25%) + customs tax (around 10%) + mail service charge (around 8€). It all depends what will be the final price for card+shipping, but 50€ sounds about right if we say card + shipping is 190 + 30$. If the declared price of the card+shipping will be less than 150€, it could be a little bit less. Add time needed for shipping and time card will spend in customs office + unclear warranty.

Biggest joke would be if they really declared the price of card in plexes (20 plex = 350€).Lol

Yeah, i hope they DONT put the plex price on the parcel.. as that would definatly mean an import tax charge for me (Was told its 2.5% import tax). I know this is all a teething problem for ccp as this is all new.. but keeping us in the dark about everything isnt helping..

*EDIT - What i mean is i hope the value they put on the parcel is LESS than 215.112 USD (as of today's exchange rate on xe.com)

Indeed. Let's hope it's sensible for a card that can be bought in UK for less than £120 (before VAT)

www.scan.co.uk

I must admit I was expecting more than one distribution point (NA, EURO, Pacific).

If you run such a service again I would suggest giving the valuation of the item and where it will be dispatched from.
This extra bit of information goes a long way to reducing the length of forum threads like this one P

Exactly... as i said before it's a teething problem for CCP as its a new venture. But next time CCP... please mention beforehand the WHERE, WHEN and package price (for customs purpose's)
