Male Exotic Dancer campaign group claims new equality measures "Don't Go Far Enough" !

Gutter Press has been informed of an intriguing development in interstellar trade!

The recent changes to SCC regulations has allowed the limited contract trading of exotic dancing men, whereas, as everyone should know, female exotic dancers have been traded for years.

Amazing!

However, not everyone is happy!

A pressure group campaigning for equality for male exotic dancers has condemned this latest move by the SCC as being insufficient at achieving the goal of equality!

"For centuries, men wishing to dance have been discriminated against! This simply will not do!" said a spokesperson from the Male Entertainers Network. (M.E.N.)
"For a woman, it is sooo easy. All she has to do is shake her chest, and club owners will hire her to dance. But men face an uphill battle to participate in the noble art of shaking your ass on stage. This is unacceptable in YC114"
"This latest measure by the SCC, limiting us to contracts, means our dance moves will simply not have the same publicity as any female dancer, as she can be traded on the open market. This is unfair!

Discrimination!

Gutter Press examined the contracts market and found this was indeed the case, a growing number of male dancers could be found.

Hot!

We spoke to a nightclub owner, who said this was simply reflecting society values:
"Listen, lady, i've been in this trade for years, I was there when the Feds raided the Cat's Whiskers in Balle, I'm not fresh off the boat like some of these dancer dudes, and honestly? The market isn't there. Most of the big spenders, they're capsuleers, and the male ones pretty much all want girl dancers. And you know what? So do most of the capsule women too. I don't know what that's about, but hey, if the lady wants to watch a girl shake her thing, the lady gets to watch a girl shake her thing, you know what I mean?"

Critics of the whole industry point out that this whole affair is in effect, a form of slavery, with people being traded like common objects such as starship parts. Or indeed, actual livestock such as wool sheep, or blackfowl.

In response to this, the M.E.N. spokesperson said:
"Honey, they wish they could buy a piece of this!"
The spokesperson then proceeded to demonstrate a diverse and fascinating series of exotic dance moves.

Wiggly!

Gutter Press will continue to keep an eye on these developments.

They should hire Gottii as a dance instructor.

I've heard many women talk about his.. "Brutor Booty"

I would consider paying Gottii large sums to train some exotic dancers....
For the record, Brutors do it better.

The Ushra'Khan have been fighting against slavery for almost the entire existence of New Eden. This is but just one more small page in the Evelopedia showing that underpriviliged peoples will always be taken advantage of. The uninformed and underpriviliged believe with their whole being that it is OK to be a slave and do as others wish...as they don't know any different.

They can be set free.

They can stand tall.

They do NOT have to take thier clothes off in order to make a living or gain respect.

People are born into slavery. Ushra'Khan fights to liberate them. Even the ones with outies instead of innies.

Strictly speaking, these lusty abdominal glute platforms are not "slaves" - unless you wish to complain about the financial transaction involved (which, of course, would make "marines" or "freed slaves" into "slaves" as well).

Careful Lyn, questioning ushra'khan while any of them are within sight of a Sansha vessel indicates you yourself are in league with Nation. You should be more careful with your logic, reason, and facts!

Really? Of all the things you could report on --

Oh, Gallente.

How delightfully predictable.

Still doing the generic whitewashing thing?

Not everyone does the racial whitewashing Morwen.

It's just Captain Halete seems too .. insert your own reason here (personally I choose a mix of ignorance and stubbornness) ... to do anything else. It's nothing new but it's still disappointing to see regardless.

I pick my words deliberately whenever possible, Cael. There was a reason I didn't say anything about whitewashing - I was saying that everyone is racist to some degree. Not that everyone partakes in "racial whitewashing".

As for Halete, I'm sure she has her reasons. It doesn't excuse her attitude or tone (or make either of them particularly conducive to a productive discussion), but it would explain it.

Racial whitewashing is a form of Racism =p

That said I do disagree that "everyone's a little bit racist" some people just hate everyone equally.

It is a form of racism. A subset of behaviors that qualify as racism.

I was speaking about racism in general, or else I would have explicitly said "racial whitewashing".

I'm not, I just happen to disagree with you. I don't think everyone is a little bit racist, sorry.

Prejudice against certain factors, yes but racist? No.

I'm sorry, have we met, pilot Marellus?

I feel as if we have, but I can never tell a Gallente from the next, you see.

I figured that out last time.

Still rocking that Amarrian supremacy mindset as well, or just the casual racism?

Ah, so it's you as I suspected.

As much as I adore you Caellach, and how much you had me falling for you the last time with your accusations of myself acting like an Amarrian, I consider that it might not be best to de-rail this topic.

Would you prefer to talk via Mail? Or perhaps we should find a lovely little out-of-pod location to meet?
