returning player needs some advice... lots of stuff has changed

so i played for about 3 years before the scram/mwd changes... mainly flew Vaga and Huginn...

quite a lot has changed, webs less powerful, mwd gets turned off by scrams... so how people fitting for pvp these days? mwd or ab... and more to teh point are my old favorite ships any good?

MWD's are still mandatory on most ships, but ABs are way more viable now-- read up on the missile changes that went through at the same time as the speed nerf. Most of the time missiles will hit a ship with an MWD better than one with an AB because of the sig radius increase. Target painters are far more common on missile boats now (though more so in PVE).

Minmatar are still awesome for PVP, I can't remember if amarr still sucked back then but they don't anymore. Scorch is awesome.

They recently buffed hybrids, I expect to see more of them in the near future.

Tech 3 cruisers are the new FOTM.

You don't see HAC fleets as often though they are still awesome if flown by decent pilots. The vaga is no longer untouchable like it was before the nerf-- it's more like a fast hurricane with better range.

They made new Tier 3 battlecruisers-- almost no tank, but they fit BS sized guns. They make good snipers and suicide gank boats.

Aaaand that's all I can think of off the top of my head. I was gone for awhile too, it's tough to remember what happened when.

Also check out Battleclinic Loadouts to give you some ideas for setups. Im sure other ppl will have other sites that may help you.

thanks fellas... gonna check out some vids too. seems the web thing is quite major, but then again i never did fit one on the vaga :)
