Petitions - some kind of lame joke?

I'm fast beginning to think that the Petition system is just a CCP façade of care to discourage people from trying to get assistance to genuine in game issues.

Do they actually look at Petitions these days or just wait for people to give up 99% of the time?

I've Petitioned a couple of times and responses can be measured in weeks.

Resolution even longer - after jumping through multitudes of hoops that really didn't seem that necessary once the request might be resolved. I say might as they have only ever solved one issue and it was a ton of hassle.

Thats because the system is clogged full of pointless petitions. Are you one of those people?

It depends on the kind of problem you have. The standard issues i had so far were resolved in hours or max. 3 days. Thats the ones that land on a chinese desktop.
If your problem is too complex to be resolved in china it makes it long long travel to iceland where far less people care about a lot of complex problems, that can be really time consuming. Once you are in that queue over there it can get ugly, so make sure that you write every single petition in a style that the random chinese support guy could understand and solve it.

Well I don't know if it is a bug because it may be by design, but the client is giving me know help.

I searched the forums also but found no information.

I have an POS that ran out of fuel (damn RL). Once refuelled and brought online all my labs are in a state of "Anchored" - as you would expect.

- If I try to online a lab it tells me it is already online.
- If I try to offline the lab it tells me it can't interrupt the action.

Doesn't make a lot of sense.

Pulling the whole lot down and throwing it back up does not appeal as some of the labs have some long running jobs a few days from completion.

I've not had a POS go offline since the changes - so YMMV
previously after restarting it all I'd have to check with an alt to see if they are running [or wait 5 mins or so to let it all catch up - sometimes a DT would have to happen] - see if you can start a new research job from the station

Who was the person that petition the other day for ... erm ... was it asking how to set a key-bind or undock a ship? Something completely frivolous that a quick Google would have solved. This person had 3 petitions open.

Hi, GM Eskimo here,

I was pretty happy. Can't say I've had a problem with EVE support before, but I've only had to raise 2 in my time.

My first petition was answered in 15 minutes.

My second in 15 seconds. On crucible patch day.

My third was because my client was crashing and the issue was resolved in only a week.

It is indeed pret--ty bad of late. I recall one of the Fanfest presentations had a couple of CCP employees discussing just how bad it was.

I have 2 that have been sitting there over a week and one has been 3 weeks (this was about a bulk market order selling at WAY lower than my sell Price). I even updated the 3 week one with a query to 're-awaken' it, to no avail.

And these are across 3 of my Toons, so it's not just 'one being picked on'.

The only ones getting helped in a descent amount of time are those with borked missions.

I would try 2 things:

Clear your Cache.

TRY to pull all 'stalled' POS equipment into your hold and re-launch them.

Maybe you should fill out a BUG report concerning the petition system & really cry when your responce will be answered after month & they say feature working as intended & suggest making a thread about it in the Features section of the fourums and close it.

Calling bullshit unless they were all stuck petitions. Cool

Oh, and in the few petitions I have placed over the years, Stuck is the only one I have ever had a response in the same day....

I have heard many horror stories.

I notice that I wait longer for reimbursement petitions than gameplay petitions. That being said it seems to me that CCP handles getting people onto the server top priority, as it should be.

As far you waiting weeks, meh, I doubt it.

This actually sounds like it needs a bug report instead.

That being said, it sounds like they are "Stuck" so you might be able to legitimately file a petition in that category.

After completing most of the Epic Arcs, players have to file a petition to have the correct amount of Faction standing increase added to their character and it usually takes a week for the petition to be answered. This also applies to accessing various Cosmos agents as well.

Obviously this is due to broken game mechanics that doesn't seem very important to CCP. This is something that should have been fixed a long time ago. If it was fixed, it would definitely lighten the petition load thus allowing other petitions to be resolved much more quickly.

First, let me apologize for the long waiting times that everyone is currently experiencing. We are aware of the problem and are working on resolving it. Unfortunately this may take a while and we have no solid ETA on when we will be able to get things properly back in line again.

To provide a bit of background information on how things are looking and why things are the way they are; here are some numbers.

A normal, healthy global queue has around 1500 petitions that are waiting for an answer from a GM; currently (as of this post) we have 3463 petitions in total that require the attention of a GM.

The oldest petition that has not yet received any reply in our Game Play queue was filed on 2012.04.05 20:06:00
The oldest petition that has not yet received any reply in our Billing queue was filed on 2012.04.14 15:43:00
The oldest petition that has not yet received any reply in our Technical queue was filed on 2012.04.13 21:31:00

Note that some special cases (hacking, bans, etc) may take longer and are not represented in the above mentioned queues.

We are working as fast as we can to get these numbers down and we are hiring to increase our GM work force. In the mean time we can only ask humbly for your patience.
