I wanted to test a jump bridge route , but on dotlan it gave me a range of 5.05 LY between the 2 systems , i cant test that out yet on TQ , and on SISI it takes 35 days of waiting !

My question is how do we get the LY distance between systems in game other than POSs, which i've already done it give me 5.0 LY between the 2 systems will the JB work in this case? or will it take the 5.05 number shown in dotlan?

Don't you just save a location at A and a location at B, then subtract the coordinates and calculate the vectors length. Think dotland does this, but the coordinates are taken from the suns position.

Well you can always test it with jump freighter and pilot that has no jump calibration skill.. if it jumps then your jump bridge will work as they both have 5 l.y. range.

Seeing as 0.01 LY is about 631 AU (meaning that 0.05 is just over 3.1k AU), I would guess that they don't bother calculating the exact distance per-jump, they probably just use the base distance and assume all points in the system are close enough that it doesn't matter (which they are).

Also, if you want to test it as Aluka suggested, Rorqs and Dreads also have 5LY ranges IIRC, they may be quicker to train into.

That tells you not only how much LO jump will cost but actual range of a jb from a starting system
