Selling anything that uses the EVE Intellectual Property for real life cash is against the rules. EVE related services can, however, be sold for ISK. I'm not going to comment on whether that will always be the case, but it is today. Just letting everyone know.

Indeed, Mighty Interesting if by some chance this ends up in court, though I doubt it will, since there are many pdf eve guides for sale out there anyway.

Well one of the major sellers of the pro guides is the very same guy that teamed up with Garmon and crew to run eveiseasy.

Cant afford eve? If you could get 6 plexs per month for free, wouldnt you?

A billion dollar opportunnity - DAILY!!!

And a chance to get rid of the botters! I have been waging war against botters in Aphi. They are hiding in the cosmos complex which has 10 sites in it. In 9 of the sites, 2-10, there is one bot in each area. These bots are there 24/7/365 flying Dominixs. I was able to get half of his team, but the other half still remains, report these losers for automation botting!

What Im offering you guys is a chance to help me get rid of the botters and open up the cosmos for the public. When we do this then the isk making opportunnity will be ours. They make so much money out there because the rats at the sites spawn every 10 minutes and have a bounty of 750,000. Each site can make over a 100 million per day once you get rid of the botters. That means every 5 days you can afford to plex your account. With 25 days left in the month for profit. How would you like to make over a billion isk per month for just a little work?

I have watched them a long time, it is easy work. They just use a tank good enough to survive the spawns and remote repaired sentry drones that kill everything that attacks them.

So who is up for some easy money?

sc2 pros sell training. I dont think blizzard cared much about that. Havn't read anything about it in a while. The problem with this is that they were selling videos i think.

I have more space likes than you.

Abaddon's cheap ad video on their frontpage is exactly adapting the style of these typical scam videos trying to sell you awesome hints how to get rid of your beer belly for a perfect six-pack. This movie alone tells the story. Not to mention the whole cheesy design of that site with a PayPal button what perfectly completes the scam style. Playing EVE for a living might be a good idea but it is very obvious that CCP will not allow to use their copyright protected ingame content for any kind of RMT. Shame on you guys that you got badly scammed by Abaddon instead of keeping cool and realistic, making tons of ISK and keep everything at a level called UNDERSTATEMENT.

"-Why do I have to pay? Why not just put the videos up on Youtube? Are you Greedy?
Making these videos is a HUGE amount of work."

First: the content of their videos is based on roams, fights = fun in EVE, playing EVE and not any type of HUGE amount of work.
Second: editing in Premiere and probably some AFX post-work each of their vids should not take longer that just one working day incl. off-the-cuff comments, playout, encoding and upload (relating to the actual video quality).
Third: I am working in post-production business for 20 years and don't tell me I am wrong. Blink
Conclusion: if the master-scam plan works 4 guys do 4 videos per month dreaming about a nice income for at least 4 days of work. The rest is for EVE for free. "How cool is that?"

"-How long do you plan on creating new content?
We are fully committed to this project and we are going to be working on this full time."

CCP gave a clear answer in a locked thread that the dream to play EVE for a living to rip off hundreds or (hopefully) thousands of noobs x $19 per month will not happen.

"-Is this website legit? Do you really teach all this stuff?"

Might be legit but not legal Big smile

29,5$ for one year sub, or 9,99$ per month would be fine.

At current prices I'd never subscribe

The previous thread said you couldn't do anything with CCP's EVE IP for real life cash which is why killboard, apps etc all have to be free. Want to be careful Will, you guys might end up seeing your accounts banned for violating the TOS

Haters should chill out. You sound pretty stupid whining you want this stuff for free. The very fact you are moaning about it demonstrates EIE material is of a higher quality than almost all of the other stuff out there. I for one am thankful these guys have made it available to us.

As for the high price, you all seem to have missed something very clever about it. Charging that amount discourages free "pirated" copies being redistributed by those who pay so much, while at the same time lowering the chance of redistribution by keeping the number of individuals with access to the material to a minimum.

In addition, the controversy has resulted in a 5-page advertisement on General Discussion.

And now, in the latest video, an apology and a correction, after awareness has been waged. Gentlemen, we are dealing with skilled businessmen here. All that's needed now is a "limited time offer" discount at launch, to entice new customers.

Latest email from Garmon, Sounds a lot better , good work guys!

Furthermore, we would like to announce that we are going to make some drastic changes in the direction that we are taking this project. We have been getting a lot of feedback regarding the pricing of our service which, to be fair, has been somewhat out of proportion to what a service such as this should realistically cost. We have been too eagerly trying to make this into something more than just videos, with a lot of additional perks for our subscribing members. This has in turn lead our site into becoming something quite exclusive, which is something that we never really intended for it. As it is, our current site is not really accessible to the vast majority of the eve community, and this is something that we want to change. As a consequence of this, we have decided to create a new form of subscription which will give you access to all of our videos, but nothing else. We are planning to make this new subscription form available by June 1st, and the pricing of it will be around the order of $5 per month. In addition, you will also have the option to pay this subscription type through ISK (400m).

They must have seen this coming when they decided to charge $19. Especially a guy like Garmon who knows much about EVE must know the attitude and reaction of the community. I had been surprised if they had found a lot of people paying more for a few videos which show how to PvP (but don't inject those skills into your veines - a lot of players even with this knowledge will still fail) than a subscription for the whole game. It's disappointing that they tried it the scam-way and now they are forced to apologize and lowering the prices down to 74%. In RL business you would be seen as non-credible trying this and noone who worked with you will trust you again.

Anyway. Garmon apologized and we should honor this - no matter if it was forced - and keep on supporting their good stuff. Beside the scam-**** the content of their videos is great. They don't should waste time to pimp those videos with useless motion-graphics, designs and animations. Keep them pure as they are but get a better mic.

I don't think that CCP allows to use their game content for any kind of RMT. The payment should be ISK. Nothing else. Compared to the $5,00 I have to say that ISK 400mil is still too high. If it's between 150mil - 200mil (what is actually like $5 depending on the PLEX value) then I would subscribe and support the idea. Just keep in mind that 100 subscribers will pay 15-20bil per months. And this should be really enough for nice ships, losses and EVE for free.
