I have the new launcher and when I run it and hit play it starts to load then gives me the error message eve.exe has stopped working. My question is how do I fix this?

Same. Been playing with new launcher since today. Repair Tool does not fix.

Something to do with 'ReaderError: unacceptable character #x0000: special characters are not allowed', maybe?

Hi, the issue you're seeing is because your settings.yaml in the Launcher cache has become corrupted. We have a fix for this in the new version of the Launcher which is out on singularity right now.

To resolve your issue you will need to:

1. Go to where you have installed EVE
2. Open the Launcher folder
3. Open the Cache folder
4. Delete the settings.yaml
5. Start EVE

Your problem is most likely unrelated to the Launcher. I would suggest that you run the repair tool and/or clear settings and cache. All this can be done from the Launcher settings menu, simply:

1. Start the Launcher
2. Click the settings button (screwdriver and spanner icon in the top right)
3. Find the EVE Client settings tab and click start button at the bottom
4. Let the repair tool run
5. Attempt to start EVE again
6. If that doesn't work: Find the EVE Client settings tab and click the clear settings and cache buttons
7. Attempt to start EVE again
8 If that doesn't work: Contact customer support by filing a petition, there are links in the Launcher for that. They will better be able to assist you debugging this issue.
