Ships & Modules

Hi there community.

I've just started EVE again today after a long break (about 18 months). I'm very interested in high sec exploration, however, i'm in a bit of a dilemma when it comes to ship and fitting choices. Firstly, i have around 6.5m skillpoints and i have only trained to fly Minmatar ships so far. The majority of my tank skills are in armor and i have frigate 5, cruiser 4, battlecruiser 5, and can fit up to t2 medium autocannons, afterburners, armor hardeners etc. My scanning skills are pretty average with around 4 in each of the scanning skills i think.

Basically, i am just looking for advice on what to train next and what would be the ideal ship to use now/aim for. I still have 950,000 unallocated skillpoints to use (i think from when they removed the learning skills) and i would like to use them as effectively as i can.

I don't have any kind of 'residence' and can set up anywhere in high sec really, but im not sure which would be the best area to set up based on my ship choice and the NPCs i would be fighting. I have read about people using a wolf/jaguar to run sites which sounds quite appealing if anyone could provide some more info about that.

Could you point me in the direction of any resources regarding fitting etc? Plus, in which area of space would you recommend to fly a Jaguar, i.e. what faction should i be looking for? (Guristas, Blood Raiders etc).
