lol you are the kind of carebears that i hate the most, the ones that think people have a right to not have their ships blown up.

for 1, if they are stupid enough to autopilot haul or even haul/mine at all on days when they know suicide ganking will be going on a lot then they frankly deserve it.

and secondly, this is eve, you are not safe anywhere, it just takes more effort to kill you in some places, deal with it or stop playing.

The best method for all highsec affine players to show the goonies and also CCP, what they think of this sh** is just: Don't log on on 28th.

Let them play alone this day.

Whether you're for or against it, there's one truth here: people will show up to play a game together. I know this may seem altruistic, and you trolls will jump all over me for it, but think about this:

1. If you're 'Pro-Goon', you should be encouraging this action (as some already are), because it'll present you with more targets, and maybe even a little sport.

2. If you're 'Anti-Goon', you should be supporting this, as well. Here's your chance to get in a few jabs at a very low cost.

3. If you're an industrialist, you have a chance to participate in pvp--whether directly by flying in the local fight or indirectly by supplying ships and armaments for those that are.

4. If you're a carebear that may be interested in pvp, well...here you go. Hop in a cheap frig, outfit it with some basic tackle modules, and throw yourself at the invaders.

Seriously, the huge fleet battles of yore are rare nowadays. We aren't seeing the battle reports like we used to. This is NEWS, ENTERTAINMENT, FUN, however you want to refer to it. At the end of the day, if Pinky's 'Save Jita' initiative gets a few dozen/hundred carebears to hop into pvp and 'put up a fight', it'll speak VOLUMES MORE about the EVE community than either the 'Jita Burns' or recent Mittens drama...simply because more than one group is ACTIVELY participating in the event.

This guy gets it. When the dust finally settles, only the mindless autopilot bot types will be crying. Op success.

Closing your eyes won't make the problem go away. This isn't just about saving Jita, its about showing groups that there are people in hisec willing to fight back against anti-hisec player events. I'm sure there were lots of people who thought that as long as they didn't mine during Hulkageddon, it didn't affect them and it would just go away. Now we are onto what? Hulkageddon V?

So just avoid major trade hubs on the 28th. Act like this doesn't affect you at all, but don't complain when the next Burn Jita event happens, don't complain when a new player event happens that actually does get you killed or does start affecting your gameplay.

Hisec might not actually have its own sovereignty like nullsec, but it does have a psychological sovereignty in the form of what people think we're willing to take before we fight back.

Well, and how exactly do you think we should do that?
How can we stop the Goons from organizing events like Hulkageddon and burn Jita?

I've been playing EVE for almost 4 month now and I have to say I am quite disappointed.

I had great plans of being a miner and producer mining ore, refining it, manufacturing goods and selling them for profit. I actually thought that miner and producer is a honorable profession in EVE being the base of the economy.

But what do you get? Scamming, griefing, ganking and bullying defenseless players seem to be the right way to go in this game.

So you shouldn't be surprised at all that someone who got banned for his antisocial behaviour in RL is planning to terrorise players to celebrate his glorious return and CCP is doing nothing about it.

I don't get any joy from being ganked in my 300 mil. Hulk by 3 or 4 cowards in their 5 mil. destroyers without any means to defend myself.

I don't get any joy from my cans being fliped and all I can do is sit and watch.

I don't get any joy from losing my industrial and cargo just because someone else is bored.

And I don't get any joy from being forced into fights I don't want to fight especially if there is no way I can win.

So what can I as a single person do about all this? I'm afraid the only thing is to quit playing.
And that's exactly what I am going to do.

So if there are other players like me who don't get joy from being bullied around let CCP know and suspend your account to make your voice being heared. If there are enough of us maybe they will listen and give us a little space in their sandbox that dogs don't use as a toilet so we can play the game the way we enjoy it.
I'm afraid that's the only way we can "fight back".

Don't get me wrong. I don't want to whine. If this is the way this game is meant to be then so be it. It's just not the way I enjoy playing. But given the fact that the vast majority of the citizens in EVE live in highsec I can't believe I'm the only one thinking that way.

I also can't believe that there can't be a way to co-exist WITHOUT ruining other players game. If there really is no way to respect players who want to live in peace or only want to fight FAIR battles then it's best (at least for me) to leave sooner rather than later because I came to EVE to have fun (my kind of fun - without hurting anybody) and not to get frustrated.

And Goons, how about thinking of how to make this game as pleasant as possible for EVERYONE and not just for a bunch of idiots?

Pity we can't being the endgame ships into highsec.

Now NC. is crying because of the CFC's SuperRifters and MegaDrakes and UberDominix and uh .. SuperZealot?

We're helping to even the odds by encouraging people to cry about supercaps.

You're delusional if you think High-Sec pubbies are able to organizing in any way that doesn't directly cause their wallets to increment. By all means try to form up a defense against us, you might even kill a goon or two, but you're going to be going up against one of the most highly organized and efficient military organizations in the game. Your grandiose proposal only shows how ignorant you are of how utterly you're outclassed. High-Sec dwellers who haven't never participated in the destruction of another major alliance or the conquering of entire regions can't conceive of the levels of hell a prepared major alliance is able to bring down upon you.

So they can conceive?

This is what I predict for the 28th:

Step 1: Just after downtime ends - 5000 goon-tards login into Jita.
Step 2: The auto System cap comes down like a ban hammer - jita is effectively cut of.
Step 3: Goons laugh, Bears rage.

There is no need to fight back in-game. Just go meta like everybody else and complain until CCP nerfs whatever it is that is bothering you.

That way it saves much more effort and immersive gameplay. Isn't that what you all want?

Is it hot in here, or am I just scared to death of all that bravado?

Yulai used to be the main hub as all empires could be reached from that one system. Issue is in the lore the system was attacked and mostly destroyed, including the gates...it led to a map change and the eventual creation of Jita as the new market place.

Joy comes from surprising the can flipper.

Joy comes from ECM on your "helpless" industrial.

There are few fights you can't win or at least walk away from.

Eve isn't a single player game. CCP has gone to great effort to push people to gather up in groups.

Moral of the story: Get in the game.

not sure if anyone has thought of this. NOT going to read the vast numbers of post.. but...

The 28 th needs to be called bump a goon day...

If everyone just flew a fast frig with warp core stab you could just bump goons out of alignment to keep them from warping while concord does all the shooting.. if they lock one of ya warp out, if your quick :) if they do get you ? its a frig get over it.

Matter of fact make everyday a bump a goon day.. you see a goon you bump a goon..

If I want to throw together something relatively cheap, that would survive a "typical" Jita gank long enough for Concord to arrive, what would I want to fly, or at least what resistances would I want to max? How much EHP would I want?

Why do people insist on making EVE into a game it isn't? Maybe, just maybe, it's not a game for you. That's ok. You don't have to like it, even if you really want to. Hey, I like Hello Kitty, but want claw my eyes out playing Hello Kitty Online. Despite loving all things Hello Kitty, I accept this situation, and move on. I understand you like internet spaceships, and EVE has the best ones around. But it's clearly not a game for you.

Everything you do in EVE comes with risk of loss. There are many things you can do to reduce the risk, minimize the potential loss, avoid violent conflict, and even turn the tables and fight back. That's the game. But you just want to log in and shoot defenseless rocks in peace. Maybe Farmville is more your speed? Just squint and pretend you're flying a Hulk.
