94 Characters with 'Chuck Norris' in the name...

The original character with simply Chuck Norris as the name, is of course one of thousands and thousands of character names who were entered in under trial accounts and never played. Just simply to lock in the name and forgotten about. The character Chuck Norris was created almost eight years ago.

CCP, what is the update on names being freed up on trial accounts that never activated a subscription?

You'd be surprised on how hard it is to claim copyrights on a name in court.

Plus its not .like there isnt already copyrighted corp named with copyrighted logos all over the place in this game

Hmm 2 people with McFACE in thier name, and both are in the starter corp. Horray im the only active one!

I feel sorry for the people that join EVE these days and have to pick a name.

If you prefer short single names, or enjoy naming yourself afetr popular stuff, then yes, you probably run into problems. However if you pick a first & last name, & use a bit of creativity, you barely run into a double.
Myself, I never had issues creating a name for my chars in EVE.

No, just to clear character names which have never been a paying subscriber. Don't even need to wipe their assets, just free the name up and rename them if someone else who actually wants to pay for this game takes it.
