So ever since I got my first cruiser, and first real drone boat, the vexor, I have had the desire for a vexor navy Issue. The problem i keep having however is whenever I get close to buying one, I just cannot figure out a fit that I can't make better with something else.

Anyone fly one of these ships?

For what purpose? For PvP ? PvE? For PvE, they're great ships up to level 3 missions. But most people would rather fly a myrm (which is also cheaper) than fly a Vexor.

They do well for PvP too, but always highly situational.

The Navy Vexor doesn't serve a specific role thus the reason many people don't fly it, IMHO.

High Five. Yeah! C'est La Eve .

Flew it a few times, then it died and never got around to replacing it. The vexor navy issue is a DPS bulldozer and should be used for brawling defo.

Ogre II x4

Fit has about 38k ehp and 800+ dps.

The idea is to pick the fights, seperating gangs is important as you will have to dedicate yourself to scram range while your uber DPS does its thing. Like most gallente ship, its do or die.

Yea that's the issue somewhat. I don't have a clear use for one. I just like them.

Every time I look at one for PVE or PVP I can find something else that fits the bill for less.

I may just get one anyhow. Just for when I am in the mood for something different.

It's a great ship - the only problem it has is that it loses out to others in many respects however if you love drones and:

You don't have the skills for an Ishtar
And a Myrm is too big for your purposes

The Navy Vex can do a good job - for instance in complexes /missions which are limited to cruiser hulls.

However even this is very situational as it loses out spectacularly to the Gila as a low SP cruiser... but if you hate the Gila for some reason or don't have the caldari cruiser skill yet - go for the Navy Vex.

Fly an Ishtar is my advice. I know it takes more skills but it's worth it.

The Vexor line in general is one of the best (if not arguably the best) in Eve. The versatility and shear ability of these ships is fantastic.

Fit for max drone damage (Omni's and drone links) a decent AB and it makes a great mid range to long range boat. I hate hybrids so I fit it with dual 180 AC's that take care of frigs and Dessy's..

I want to train up the Ish, but have a Gila and have not felt the need to invest the time to get the Ish where it needs to be with max skills.

The Vexor Navy Issue is great!

I would only ask CCP to tweak the powergrid issue it has. If you check, the Stabber Fleet Issue has the largest base powergrid along with the Navy Omen of the faction cruisers, yet the Navy Vexor's native weapons (blasters or rails, lol) require the MOST powergrid.

I would love to be able to fit 5 Ion Blasters without fitting mods to my Shield Navy Vexor :)

Ishtar or Gila, if you want a cruiser size hull, otherwise domi or snake.
