Buy Sell game mechanics flawed

Scenario 1:
Newb goes to Jita, looks and see's something he/she wants, but its 2.2 trillion ISK, buyer clicks on advanced and modifies price to 1 trillion, Hoping maybe it might work, but instead he just issued a Buy order, THIS has bin fixed with the "Instant feature"

Scenario 2
Kara Books alt, docks up in Jita, and decides her prices need a Makover, so she goes and modifies the Buy orders first, then looks over to a flashy Wallet button, and then realized that a Cerebrus was just purchased for a very strange number, almost 1B isk, wait thats not right, the ship costs 110M isk, Why wasn't the amount transferred to cover the cost of the purchase equal to that of the Sell order?
NOT FIXED

Any body have anything to add to that?

Instead of paying 1 bil for the cerberus, it should only have taken a maximum of 110 mil. Have to agree - Kara, did you send a polite evemail to the person you overpaid? Human nature is often kinder than we think Blink

I think he was referring to your corp name being a misnomer based on your post.

But I can not tell what goes on in the minds of others. Just guessing.

Hmm. I have had a similar experience but I had made a profit on it. I had a market sell order up for a certain item at 110,000 isk but somehow someone paid me an even 1mil for the item. I had to triple check it to make sure they didn't buy more than 1 or if it was a different item. I think the market is bugged a little bit.

If someone clicks sell order of 1 mil that is at the same station as your sell order, but your sell order is lower, then you get the sale for the 1 million, regardless of how much lower your sell order is.

The sale always goes to the lowest seller, even if the buyer clicks a more expensive listing.

People can mistakenly click an order that isn't the lowest sell if the orders are sorted by something other than price, such as jumps.

I dont know how to fix that, but I reckon fixing the Sell order thing is as easy as capping the amount of ISK that can enter the wallet for any sell order any one has to the amount the item is listed for.

So if I'm reading this right, you added an extra 0 and bought a cerb for a bil, and you want the market to recognize this and only pay the min needed amount to purchase a unit of the item?

If so: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

In my opinion this is working as it should be.

Currently, if there are several sell orders of one item, say:

10 units at 140,000 ISK
15 units at 140,100 ISK
5 units at 140,200 ISK

If I want to buy them all, I can either manually buy each, or I can pay 30 x 140,200 ISK (i.e. a little extra) to get everything at once.

With proposed change, I could buy them all with single order without paying any extra. I prefer for it to cost extra to do this.

If you want to pay extra ISK, you press ALT-W and click on "Transactions" donate ISK to whoever you want on that list.

OP enters buy order at over 100X market price. OP must have ignored market warning for buying at over 50% region retail price. OP petitions, OP gonna be sad with CCP response.

I once bought 3 Plex for 30M each on 3 contracts from same guy before I actually messaged him and told him what he was doing. <--- Kind of feel happy/sad about the message to him, I wonder how many more he would have placed?

Plan better, make sure your will is high and you're using mind skills when placing buy/sell orders.
