@CCP, do you revamp ALL Industrial ships too while the "big overhaul"?

Starting from T1 mining frigats, T1 mining crouser, T1 hauler and all T2 sub versions?
And most improtant all Barges, T1 and T2 versions?

They are all outdated when it comes to the EVE world!

Why the hell can't I fitt capital repairs or shield booster on an Orca ... it's an CAPITAL ship!

I had an idea to remove mining frigates and osprey/scythe as mining ships and let trail accounts train for a procuror but not the retriever. And then make the mining frigates into a frigate sized logi and make the T2 versions similarly.

Frig size logi is a nice idear as Small Remot Rep/Booster aren't used at all atm (are they?). I once tryed to sell a Small C-Type Remote Repair and gave up after some month *g*.

The other posibility would be to introduce T1 ORE mini ships which can use up to 3 standart Tech II mining lasers to start a full new ORE-Line.
- ORE frigs -> T2 version
- ORE barges -> T2 version
- ORE hauler (Orca?) -> T2 version
- ORE capital

I like the idea of taking away mining bonuses to normal frigs/cruisers and making a line of ORE ships to replace that.

Not sure about a T2 Orca. I don't think we will ever see that. However, something along the lines of a freighter but designed for ore would be nice I think. It can only contain ore and is a giant cargo container with engines like the current Freighters are (i.e. they don't have the corp hangars / fleet bonuses of an Orca).

Don't take my placement of the Orca to strict.

Following the racial ships it would need some sort of "ORE Beastower". But I don't see the need for this. And the Orca is allready a great hauler. A T2 version might lose the gank bonis but gain an even bigger cargo space. But even this allready excists with standart Frighters.

My main concern is the bad designe of Barges.

While other spezial ships like Logistics, Recons, Hauler all have enough CPU + PG to find not stupid T2 fits ... this is not posible with Barges.

And noone is able to explain to me with real arguments (except "Miners suck, I hate them") why this is the case.

You'll notice that EVE does not have a mid-sized Industrial hauler either. It jumps from an Iteron Mark V to an Orca. There's nothing in the middle in regards to cargo space, but the SP difference is quite immense.

There should be a mini-freighter ship line of sorts.

What about the Deep Space transports? You could argue that they are the intermediate haulers. I know that the Itty V can take just as much in it's hold, but then the Itty V is rather unique and is no way as well defended as the Deep Space haulers.

I suppose you could make that argument, true, but even the Bustard fully rigged and expanded does not exceed what the Itty V offers in terms of space. However, it definitely is much better in the survivability department.

I guess I was thinking more of a bulk hauler than anything else. You jump from ~25,000 hold space to a ship that wasn't designed as a hauler with ~60,000 space and an insanely higher skill requirement.

T2 haulers like the Mastodon.

True, the cargo space isn't bigger as from a Iteron V, but they gain an imens boost in defens which is fine for me as they do have the CPU and PG for T2 fits.

Fitted for max Cargo + some defens
Iteron V: 38.433m3 + 14.280 EHP
Mastodon: 29.243m3 + 50.071 EHP
Orca: 92.714m3 + corp hangar + ore hangar + ship hangar + 101.064 EHP
Fenrir: 900.000 m3 + 174.050 EHP
quick fits with T2 items only and very likely can be toped.

Even the Iteron V is comfortable with CPU (WTF 1062.5 CPU??) + PG (not enough for LSE II but good enough for a bunch of MSE II).

And that's a nother point why I can't understand this creazy pre-gimp of all Barges when it comes to CPU+PG. There is no reason and no need for this!

The DSTs are really without much of a purpose any more with the introduction of infinite point scripts. Mostly, they just get used as super-tanked T1 haulers. I think those would be where you'd want to go for your "mini-freighter". Give them a higher base capacity where you could choose to have them at 30k with a maximum tank fit or up to 120-140k with a maximum cargo fit.

As for the barges, the Procurer needs to be brought up to the capability level of the existing Retriever. The existing Retriever needs to be turned up a notch so that it's more between where it is now and where the Covetor is.

Proc - needs that 2nd high slot, and needs a 25k m3 drone bay
Retty - 2nd mid slot, 20-40 more PG, 20-30 more CPU, 50k m3 drone bay
Covetor - 2 more low-slots, 2 more mids, 40-50 more CPU, 50-60 more PG, 75k m3 drone bay

(And based on watching the FanFest presentation on ship tiers and the "Tiericide" and adding slots / CPU / PG where needed, I wouldn't be surprised to see the above happen.)

I'd much rather see the DSTs converted to a more specialized ships rather than just a better in every way version of t1 haulers.

What I'm thinking about is dropping the normal cargo bay to something like 2k or even less but adding a dedicated much bigger )thinking something like 100-150k) hangar for ore, pos fuel, isotopes, pos reaction products, ammo or something like that.

It can be even done in a way that each race gets a different hangar type or they could just create couple different types of DSTs for each race or something.

You are ********, first, meta MLUs require less CPU. Second, get T2 Strips you scrub. Third, the Retriever is SUPPOSED to be ******, because you are supposed to train to a Covetor, then a Hulk.
