skill point question.

On my profile page on EVE gate it shows i have 10.5 million skill points (200 skills) , yet at the top of the list of skills i have availible it shows "Current skills: 200 (skill points: 16,739,959)". why does it show 16.7 million skill points when i have only trained up 10.5, also it seems to have jumped up quite quickly over the last week or so, why is this number going up fast?
anyone help with this?

I have seen the same problem.

If you look at your skill that you are actually training down on the skill tree, you will see that is has a completely inflated and going up at a ridiculous rate. It keeps doing that until that skill is finished. Once the skill is finished your SP reset and then start increasing at another crazy rate for your new skill in training.

It only affects the SP number right above your skill list and on the skill in training.

I am currently deployed on a Carrier in the Middle East and my only connection to EVE is via EVE Gate, so it gets annoying.

"SP: 7,818,784 / 768,000"

What would a carrier do there?
Can't you solo the whole middle east in a tengu?
