Please don't tell me you traveled all the way to the center of a star to place a bookmark.

Because who would EVER take the time to do that.......heh...

Fastest ship in EvE I am aware of was demonstrated here.

I think I have something that can go faster but it's going to take me a few more days b/c I need Sleeper Tec IV to build the Digital boosters but I think the Freki might be able to b/c it has lots of power. Will see. Anyway, hit up that link b/c the guy who did that vid is one of my personal EvE heros.

Cynabal with 100MN MWD. Can hit 21KM/S with bonuses and implants. I've done it on the test server.

I think you forgot the T2 ganglink on the boosting loki and the Quafe Zero. With them It can hit 47.3km/s. Good call on the tourney ship though, I'd forgotten about them completely.

Well, quafe runs out, his cap doesn't....

Such a ship would be impossible to catch, right?

You can scan it down, but there is no way you are ever gonna get a scram/web on it... your warp to point is obsolete from the moment you start warp, and by the time you exit warp, he'll be off grid.
By the time you find their heading using D-scan, you'll never be able to catch them, even if you have a ship fit the same way, and use boosters and overheat, right?

GOTTA GO FAST wrote:
I want to go fast in eve.

What is the theoretically highest speed possible?

Excluding warp / bump etc, just with the ship only (remote cap x-fer allowed)

Don't know the highest speed, but I'm guessing one of the minmatar interceptors is probably the fastest ship.

So what are the fastest speeds whilst remaining useful/realistic these days? By useful/realistic I mean no over-sized prop mods and no officer fittings.

Personally i liked Eve pre-nano nerf when the Gist A-Type 1MN MWD was king. My Crow used to go almost 30km/s with a decent Claymore in gang. :(

Depends on what you define as "fast"...

Straight line top speed? Dramiel with "all 5" fleet boost with hardwiring and overload on top. (probably.)

Time from distant system to system? Whatever travel-fit interceptor.

Time from distant system to system on a budget? A Vigil with hyperspatial optimizer rigs and full nano rack. Can't beat that speed-per-buck ratio.

Otherwise a shuttle will be just fine. Mind it's tank, tho. I hear they can't tank very well.

It knows what you think.

I've been playing on & off since 2004, and am a 'super elite holier than thou uber pvp'er', you know, the kind that TEST/goons likes to lambast. Or at least I was once upon a time anyway...

Problem is I'm at work with no EFT and haven't actually PVP'ed since 2009, hence my question.

I guess useful in the sense that I'm asking it would be either 'decent roaming setup' or 'inty'. Primarily I'm asking about the best choice of ship for staying alive through the medium of speed whilst providing use to a fleet or roaming gang.

In hindsight it's a stupid question, I just want to be part of the conversation. Cry

OP: All the ship fits contained here are designed for speed alone. There is currently no sustainable playing style built around this concept.

Suggest looking into interceptors if you want to fly fast ships.

Why are you speed obsessed?
