I love you..

When I started:

"What's EVE?"

"Something that fails to explain it to the person and they are now more confused than when we started"

Now:

"What's EVE"

"It's a game google it if you want to know more"

I plan on living forever.......so far, so good.

"OHMYGODTHISISTHEBESTGAMEIVEEVERPLAYED! So you are in space, and you control a space ship, because you are in space. But you are not alone in space, there are other people there, real people. So all these real people can make anything in this game, and by that I mean the ships we fly to having different roles, even roles not actually in the game. And you can take control over solar systems, and people can fight you over it, and be in corporations and alliances. And you can join corps and alliances to steal everything they have, like this one alliance that was in war with an other, and they made one guy steal everything and disbanded the alliance, IT'S SOOOO AWESOME!"

And after that explanation people look at me with a confused look.

I share my addiction with friends all the time.

I hang out with an odd crowd. EVE has come up at least 3 times at lunch this week.

The only one I can't talk about it in front of is my BF...

That's a d**n shame, gotta find someone you can swap ransom stories with during sex.

Haha, that would be nice.Lol

Hasn't gotten to that point anyway, parents would kill me (his or mine, not sure).

Funny enough, its gotten to the point that my mom will refer to cops as Concord once in a while.

I don't anymore. Takes too long to explain. I've decided you have to find it on your own.

Lol I did that completely by accident the other day driving around with my best friends girlfriend the other day. She looks at me all weird and I simply smile to myself.

Once you realize what a joke everything is, being the comedian is the only thing that makes sense.

Sometimes I catch myself labeling people I see walking down the street by the different EVE races.

When I share eve with other people. I don't mention the game play. I mention the social aspects of the game as well as the mechanics of people owning space and large numbers of people fighting over space. Also I emphasize the fact that a loss in EVE actually means something.

I just say it's a spaceship game that has a lot of player driven aspects, like the economy, politics, warfare... that it's a game that doesn't hold your hand and gives you a lot of freedom to do whatever you want to do.

That or "It's kind of like multiplayer Elite".

But than again a lot of my friends are gamers who have heard of EVE despite not owning gaming PCs (and are also excited for Dust, which is convenient).

In fact the only person I know IRL who plays EVE is my gf. I used to talk about it a lot, mentioning stuff I did in game (fleet fights and such) which got her interested and she was hooked a few days into the trial.
Apparently EVE is the kind of game she's always wanted to play but never encountered before... but I guess that's not surprising when we both hate other MMOs (WoW, SWTOR etc) for the same reason:grindfest singleplayer story driven games you do with other people and no freedom.
