Are miners about to become worth their weight in gold?

Looking through the forums and trade-hub prices it's no lie that things are getting ridiculously expensive!

Even tho I have enjoyed ganking the odd miner, I'm starting to hope that this breed of player begin mining their little socks off to help the market with minerals. Also, getting rid of drone-poo will make minerals even rarer. And we have Hulkageddon to go yet.

I'm curious to know if the gank-bears are starting to maybe feel a glimmer of concern? Or if anyone is for that matter?

I'm kinda glad to be a WH dweller at this moment in time. The Drake is almost as expensive as the Raven was not too long ago!

Thoughts? Flames? Trolls? Go!

Miner clone = 200 kg

1 kg = 35.2739619 ounces

200 kg = 7,054.79 ounces

1 ounce of gold = $1,657.38

7,054.79 ounces of gold = $11,692,467.85

I doubt it

Not much moving around as the asteroid doesn't speed tank... yet.

Tends to add on the extra carbon to increase said worth.

It's a great time to be a pirate. Pirate

Hmmmm... more expensive ships = MOAR tears when they get blown up. Why didn't I look at it that way? Think I will get back into my Thrasher Twisted

Edit for the narrow minded: just because there is a Thrasher involved it does not mean all I blow up is mining ships Roll

First step to admiting you have a problem. You are risk adverse, you fly in highsec which CONCORD is unbiasedly guarding you just as much as the hulk and Mack pilots (until you strike).

Good for you. Nothing like saying you won't risk something expensive, it just has to hit the wallet with the least amount of loss. Its ok the other guy is probably going to lose a Mack or Hulk, so long as its not you. Lets not forget "Don't fly what you cannot afford to lose" and "Poorly Designed ships" go great with "Destroyers got a buff, but mining vessels don't need them".

I have to agree. Gankers are the ironically the biggest risk averse carebears in EVE

Gankin no fun if you know you're probably gonna end up being the one that gets ganked, after all what do predators fear, bigger predators. Ugh

Not really.

More expensive ships means that mining is more profitable yet hulk/mack ganking is more expensive.

Killing all the worthless botters is good and all, but remember you're only making the ones that aren't stupid enough to get ganked even richer.

i intend to have a dozen hulk pilots and sit outside caldari 4-4 and demand loudy in local that kernite belts need to be permanently in Jita.

That should work?

Thanks for the help

Problem with your math. An ounce of gold does not weigh an ounce.

Anyway, prices will likely drop significantly post Inferno changes, when people dump their hoarded minerals.

Actually welcome to real world economics.

I have serious suspicions that this is not a supply versus demand Issue but rather market manipulation.

OMG there going to nerf A prices jump at just the news.
No changes have come into effect yet but the market explodes.

EVE is no longer a supply versus demand economy but rather it has turned into what the RL economy really is which is speculation economics.

People can't have fun in a game unless they hold some kind of kill other players event. Even if they have to sink down to the sad level of shooting something that can't defend itself.

You'd think shooting fish in a barrel would get boring after a while. But no! 5 hulkageddons now. The people who gank industrial/mining ships are the ones who don't care about how much it takes to build a ship. But will probably scream the loudest when their favourite ship becomes more expensive.

I sorta think industrial people will really like the fact that ships are more expensive now. If the people who build the ships are the same ones who mine the minerals, they'll love this. As long as they aren't losing too much when/if they get ganked. Should be good.

Half correct.

It still is supply and demand ()with a mix of trying to make a profit sprinkled in). Its just that demand has increased due to speculation.

About 1.09 ounces.

Let me clarify...
An ounce of gold (for purposes of financial value) is almost always (if not always) measured in troy ounces, which are not identical to the commonly used ounce.
