A profitable industrial complex (POS) in WH space

I have a friend currently residing in C1 space who I have been in talks with for a while regarding a merge.

This would mean I, who participates in the industrial side (namely manufacturing), could setup shop inside a C2 (or larger) alongside him (who mainly runs combat sites and mines).

I am just wondering if this would be profitable for both of us - and if so, how? In what ways would both our rather different playstyles compliment one another to make profit inside WH space?

I am very new to the whole wormhole thing so not sure exactly on how it would all work. But would this be a feasible (or recommended) thing to do?

Yours,
Vero

he gets you minerals at low/no cost
you make him ships/ammo/stuff at low/no cost

extra stuff gets sold on the market.

the only "hard" part about W-space is the logistics (pretty much, the "scan down a wormhole so you can get out" part). Everything else is like living out of a POS in K-space...

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Why do you say 'low/no cost'?

low cost --> stuff is paid for, albeit at below market costs (e.g. 3.5 ISK/unit for Trit)
no cost --> pretty obvious

This would not work. If you are in a different wormhole, you might as well be on the opposite side of the universe, or in known space. Wormholes expire after 24 hours (max), and will then redirect to a different system. This includes WSpace <-> WSpace holes.

The only way for your setup to work is if you and your friend are in the same WSpace system.

That being said, it could work quite nicely, as long as you can deal with the logistics of getting stuff in and out of WSpace.

I assume Veronique meant they are gonna be in one WH together. But, few things to note... Even though there are rare ores in w-space, its hard to refine. Even with the best skills and setup, you will have 25% waste. Also, if your friend is able to do sites, it will never be more profitable for him to mine over doing sites (just do the math). So, if you dont want to do T3 production, I wouldnt advise having a seriously involved industrialist actually manufacturing things to sell in a WH, because you will end up hauling minerals from highsec anyway. In your place I would focus on T3 production, but if you have no skills for it, it will take a lot of time to train.
