This may seem like a ray of sunshine to all us UK dwellers, but if you actually look past the CCP spin doctors you are losing more money.

Price of a 1 Month Sub on Eve Account Management: $14.95

$1 Conversion Rate to GBP = 0.627

$14.95 Converted to GBP = £9.39

So basically what CCP is saying here, is that they don't want UK users paying the same as Americans, but are going to round it up and try to pass it off as a good deal.

Forgive me for being a butthurt poor student. D:<

Tbh its probably more of a move to bring the price of EvE more in line with other popular MMO's in the UK, seeing as at around £13 eve was between £4 and £7 more expensive than other MMO subs.

As for the US price thing, it's pretty much the same for most products - you just get used to it if your from the UK (for example a standard $50 game should be £31 where as a standard release game in the UK is £35)

I guess mainland Europeans don't know what money conversion means anymore.

Remember a time when you needed to convert to francs if you were visiting France?

Guess not.

so, i couldn't fail to notice the part where it will be cheaper to pay in GBP.

so... two questions:
A: will the euro price be adjusted to compete?
B: if not, being from denmark, how can i pay with GBP?

Second that.
It would be great, if you could comment on that.

We'll never receive a comment on this. It's something EVERY international company is taking advantage of. Why?! We're still paying/buying games despite the considerable price difference.

Same with the price differences between US and EU, yes, even after taking into consideration the VAT tax EU has.

However, one can only hope to see what a corporate-like answer would look on this Cool

Completely understand your international pricing strategy, even though ETC sellers seem to be a minor whole in it making it some what irrelevant.

However, I have to say that letting everyone in Europe know about a change that has only negotive associations for them is a bit silly. Surely you could have sent this as an email campaign to UK customers only.

Btw thank you for this change, being from the UK I approve and hopefully all of the lol WOW players will see EVE as an alternative now the price is the same. Hey never going to complain at having more noobs to shoot.

Anyone knows how I could pay in $? Should I change my location on Windows setings? Or I should log in from PC in USA?

On a serious note will there be some sort of rebate from the 1st of may to the next subscription payment for us players who have time left from the old dearer rate?

You guys are nuts. Accept different currency - sure, sounds good. But you have to pick one to be the base, and charge the equivelent exchange for them all or its noting but racist.

And you were doing so well before this CCP, way to screw the pooch and remind us of your true colors.

This.
I've always thought that it is outrageous, that we europeans must pay more than the americans.
Now this.
Of coure, I know ccp has every right to do different pricning, but still, it's revolting.

Sooo..let me get this straight. The britts get cheaper EVE because CCP Unifex (the current EVE lead DEV) is a britt ?

From that angle it looks as blatant discrimination of other nations.

So anyone at CCP, would you please comment on the reasoning.

Given that the UK provides eve with its second highest userbase after the US players. It makes sense to cater to our payment options. That and not having to pay currency conversion fees ON TOP OF sub fee, will be bliss to many of us UK based players.

Hey CCP, I would like to know why paying a GBP Tariff is cheaper than paying GBP on a EUR tariff ?

- EURO situation ? no that's a joke, EUR is much stronger than what you can read on the news.
- Foreign exchange rate to your preferred currencies ? EUR to USD or GBP. No, Exchange rate is a cost but surely does not explain such a difference
- Interest rates on related currencies ? No, of course not as you can exchange into another currency as explained above but even without that, the interest rates differences are not that high between them all to explain such big difference in billing.
- Insurrance to cover the EUR erratic quotation moves of these last months ? No, it's not that expansive and as I said it has highs and lows.

So this means that it's not related to Economic or banking fees or transactions fees... so this is a marketing / pricing decision.... And I want to know why ?
I'm happy for the UK players but why on Earth does that mean that the UK Equivalent is cheaper than if we convert the EUR price to GBP. You are breaking the trust of the customers that we are.

quick question:

I'm outside Europe but paying from a UK bank account, will I automatically be paying as UK?
