I see these running around alot now. What is a good counter to these types of gangs?

same as any other fleet comp, find out how they are fit and counter accordingly.

blaster talo's - kite them with canes / drakes + lach
arty nado's - get under their guns and kill them at close range while sig tanking

Tier 3's are basically BS's with terrible tank so anything that won't get hit too hard by large guns is pretty much win. A friagte fleet would be ideal if gate guns arent involved.

Oracle's are the biggest problem when fit with pulse since they can be effective out to 60km with scorch or equally at point blank with INMF, they are also fairly fast so you need to be nano'd up and able to kill them at 70km+

Anything with sig-projection or sig-speed, ideally everything: sig-speed-projection.

That means 100mn (oversized afterburners), DP (dualprop: mwd and afterburner) or AB (afterburner) with long reach.

You could also consider a more tanky version (BS) with similar reach and damage-output coupled with LR support.

Some of those counters rest on the Tier 3 BC gang's ability to min-max their tracking and range-control (skillpoints, bonuses, how much they invest in their secondary-tackle support), while others beat them without contest.

The ever popular Tengu comps obviously stand out as an example, but there are many means to the same end. Not quite as powerful, yet viable all the same.

Just remember that the ISK to effectiveness ratio of T3 cruisers is tiny. They are a little bit more effective for ten times the cost.

Take a BC fleet, so long as you kill one of them you could probably loose your whole fleet and still win isk for isk.

Shield Blastos is rather untypical for a Gallente blaster boat. With 1 nano it goes 1755 m/s, cold, so kiting those in a nanocane can be challenging.

Uppsy Daisy, Tier 3, not tech 3.

Bomber gangs. Get a good warp in, hero bubble (or catch them in a drag bubble) and you can BLAP them all with 4 or 5 guys.

Just to clarify for the third time, bombers.

You don't even need bombs (though they're pretty cool :D)

Use AB and keep transversal up whilst smashing the **** out of them with torps.

You could use 30 rr archons, 500 sniper maels. Titan blob, sc blob, or eventually 5 sb's its up to you.

Tier 3 gangs seems to be the new Nano BC fleet comps. I personally think they should nerf the speed a bit.

Countering a Tier 3 requires

a) Lach or Arazus for sensor dampening
b) Inties

The inties need to zigzag around on grid providing a warp in for your gang. They don't always need to try to scram down the Tier 3s especially if the Tier 3 gang has good anti-support to avoid getting pinned down. I've seen a few pie gangs who run Tier 3s with solid support like their own set of inties or AFs.

The inties simply get behind the hostiles and give your gang a warp in on grid. They do so by zig zagging around the fleet. Or warp to a celestial that the hostile fleet is burning towards and warp back at a distance on your friendly fleet.

High Five. Yeah! C'est La Eve .

The counter is the same as it always has been, for every class of ship since the beginning of EVE...

Bring the exact same stuff to the fight and trade ships, and have fun while doing it. You don't ask "how do I counter a RR battleship fleet" you just bring another one to the field. Get into some Tier 3's, fly strait towards them and start calling primaries. You strait up win only if you have logistics and they don't.

I think this is right actually. You cant catch a T3 ranged fleet unless it wants to be caught because they are so damn fast, and they can out-range anything but battleships if they fit for it - and battleships cant catch them. The best you can hope to do get lucky catching one or two, or just chase them off. You just have to fit in similar ships and trade alpha volleys until someone is out of ships.

IMHO of course.

spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!
