I am doing this mission for 4th time. But this time with my new pilot and I have never had to do soooo much jumping ever before. So far I have had at least 4 miissions of 9 jumps or more. But this last one was simple ridiculous. For the mission "Brothers and Sisters Objective" where you have to return to Sister Alitura it is a 24 jump trek! Normally this mission is for somewhat new pilots so why all these long jumps.

It is same as ever. If you are doing it a 4th time you should know that. They want newbs to get a sense of how big EVE is I guess.

you know i started that mission and never finished it because of all the back and forth running it made you do

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

It's as much a sightseeing tour as a tutorial.

I enjoyed it a lot except the bit where I was getting killed horribly as I was in FW in the time and the enemy bastards were waiting at the mission objectives. Well played guys, well played PirateBlink

The point of that is to get you to do **** for the four different empires gives you a minor standings boost.

are you sure? I just did this and I don't recall getting any standing boost until the very end and only for the faction I chose in the final part

Probably more about mitigating potential standings losses by balancing out the areas it takes you in case you're sticking some L1s in on the side as you travel around.

The SOE epic can be reset every 6 (or possibly 12? I forget) months, by the way, for any new players that don't know that yet. Since it gives a fairly substantial boost to standing with a single empire without hurting the others, it's great for, say, pulling your Caldari faction back up over -0.5 so they don't harass you, or maintaining your mission-running status in high sec so you can hang with high-sec friends despite normally living in low/NPC null.

I'm fairly sure it can be done every 3 months.

At connections IV, I got a .66 increase when I did mine. Not a very big increase

Generally speaking I use it to boost my _bad_ standings, not my good ones. So it tends to be a much larger chunk for me.

(Since this is the new player forum: This is because standings loss is always a percentage of the difference between your current standing and -10, and standing gain is always a percentage of the difference between your current standing and +10. So the more positive your standing with a given faction, the more losses hurt and the less gains help. Likewise, the more negative your faction, the more gains help and the less losses hurt.)
