Suggestion: /afk

Greetings fellow capsuleers:

I have recently switched over to EVE Online from World of Warcraft, and I absolutely LOVE it. There is one suggestion that I would like to see implemented to the game.

In WoW, if you were to type: /afk , your character would sit down and idle, and all persons would see an "afk" tag next to your name. There is no such function in EVE. I have tried in vain to find one, typing out all possible combinations.

Here is my suggestion: Add a "/afk" command in a specific chat window (call it "Function Window"), which instantly cloaks your ship (If you don't have aggression, of course) and makes you un-decloakable and un-attackable until you re-type "/afk"




P.S. I am planning on running for CSM 7 when the elections come around. Vote for me to see EVE change for the better!

This is a brilliant idea! I've always wanted this feature and it would be a great addition to the game.

This is a great idea. alot of times i got to go afk and not for long enough that it's worth it to dock up. But this would be a real life saver and really I dunno why nobody has already thought of this.

Also, I find it such a nuisance this hassle expending effort making ISK.

Why not also have special glowy things randomly floating though space which give a million ISK each when you fly through them or shoot them or ingest (oops, scoop to cargo) them? Better yet, have them glow in different special colors and some would give ISK, some would give a 10k armor HP boost for a period of time, etc.

That's also a cool idea, like they could be rings too like in pilot wings.

If what you're flying is a trivial loss to you then perhaps it's "not for long enough that it's worth it to dock up". This is the ultimate "don't fly what you can't afford to lose" attitude.

Otherwise, perhaps you might want to reconsider whether it is worth it to dock up.

There is no flying in Eve which is 100% safe. Ever.

Even if you really, really, need to take a trip to the bathroom.
(You should have thought of that before starting the trip.)

If you want safety, go play with your Space Barbie.
