Investors - Why bother?

Just a quick (and perhaps dumb) question for investors out there:

Why do you choose to invest?

I am not criticising or saying that you shouldn't, I just want to understand the idea behind investing (for example) 1b at 10% interest over the course of a month. Surely after a month you can make back much more than the 10% interest you receive?

Is it laziness? Just have too much money to spare? Or do you simply like helping others out?

Again, not criticizing. Just want to try and understand the benefits.

I reckon its too much isk to turnover every month, or not enough time to turn it over. So idle isk can work for you by investments.

I am too busy playing the game and playing RL to use all my ISK, therefore I pay somebody else to work for me by investing in them.
