AFK Miners need more sound effects and voice messages

I'm no miner and I have very little opinion on this subject, but most of y'all who are telling the OP to HTFU need to get laid...

Chill, they're just sound effects. As a general rule, the more of them a game has, the better.

Are you still mining near Osmeden ? Pirate

Yes, you can find me in Osmeden for a couple of hours at least once a week. Well maybe not during spring break but almost every week.

I would also like to thank all those who commented, for or against.

I did have to reduce turret sounds so that I could hear the radio chatter from the rats.

I have tried AFK PvP in 0.0 but it did not turn out well for me.

The thought of a collision alarm in Jita, yes, that was not my best idea.

Getting a convo is the only sound option i see as a good one to add. The others are all things that you need to be at the computer to see. The game isnt meant to be played afk. While during certain activities you can do while afk, they were not created to be afk activities.

Rats, Suicide Ganks, and people bumping you off the asteroid are just risks i guess you have to take while you mine afk. An actively engaged miner will see those things and have time to react, why should you get to do something else while playing and have it just as easy for you to get away as someone who is actually there?

Also if they add sounds for mining, they would need to add those sounds for every aspect of the game, so ships jumping on grid, bumping, and other things of that nature would have those sounds in every situation. It just isn't realistic to add those sounds in.

Also many miners run multiple clients at the same time and it would be very annoying to get sounds from every client at the same time, and not know exactly which account has something happening.

Removing the threat to AFK mining would only benefit a few lazy people. There is risk to mining AFK (as there should be because your 1 step away from botting).

If you want to mine AFK then accept the risks involved. Mine in a cheap ship, plan your mining spots accordingly, mine with other miners and use voice coms (with at least 1 person not AFK mining), mine in grav sites / dead space sites, etc.

If you want to AFK mine while in front of your computer buy a 2nd monitor and keep your client open in the 2nd window, this way you can do other stuff while still keeping an eye on local, overview and dscan.

+1 for a conv window sound.

Otherwise, I like it as is. It seems balanced.

Dude, lolol you mean you are still mining manually?
All the pros nowadays are using this method or this method.
This method is not against the EULA. But maybe against PETA as no one should be forced to endure mining.
