I know this sounds totally carebear, but i've got to bring it up.

Can there please be a new freighter that is smaller and faster? Even if it's TII I would still buy it just to have something in between a freighter and deep space transport. 30k isn't enough for a lot of things, and 1 mil is just way too much for a lot of things.

It gets wildly annoying having to spend so much time away from PVP just moving Moon Minerals and ships 30 j through high-sec. I understand there are jump-freighters, but I'm just talking for moving stuff through high-sec.

What I am proposing would be a ship with 1/4 the cargohold of a freighter, so say 250k cargohold.... would be enough for 5 bs or all the moon goo and pos fuel you could want. It would take roughly 20 seconds to align instead of the 33 it takes for a freighter.

Please tell me i'm not the only one who sees a need for a mid-level freighter =/

think same size as orca, just replace the mining stuff with more cargo bay. so yeah like 250-300k cargo room. no fittings or nothin, just like a regular freighter.... etc.

This is called a jump freighter (you did say it was ok if it was T2).

Otherwise, just use an Orca like everyone else does.

It takes roughly a bit more than a month to put an alt into a freighter, after which you can AFK-pilot the freighter around all you want. 'Tis what I do.

You have a valid point, he is describing a JF.

I have a problem with the ridiculous price point these ships have. They cannot fire a single shot, but cost close to 7 billion ISK.
(Reference Amarr JF, Ark)

It would be dangerous to operate these if they even cost the same as regular freighters, considering their limited capacity by comparison.

And yet JFs still get bought and used. They might not be worthwhile to you, but they're certainly worth the ISK to someone. The market in Eve is player-driven, meaning that we set the prices. If something is too expensive to be worthwhile, producers cut their price until the thing actually gets bought.

Firepower/tank aren't the only worthwhile things in Eve, JFs serve an extremely valuable role and are well worth it to the people that use them. They're not for everyone though, just certain people who can afford/make use of them.

I don't honestly know what I would do if I didn't have my JF, it makes logistics so easy; well worth every penny I spent on it.

OP JF's are expensive but fit the bill for what you are looking for. Plus you can bypass gate camps, that's always a plus.

MMOs come and go, but Eve remains.  -Garresh-

It makes me wish i had bought one when they were 4.5-5 b now its close to that in tech alone.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.
