The only braindead one is the one who took a hulk fit that couldn't fit any strip miners seriously.

Based on the OPs suggestions, I've thought up an even more powerful mining configuration that would end up costing the same.

* EHP: 40k+ (without a single tanking module)

* Mining Yield equivalent to the OPs suggestion.

* Much less appealing to gankers.

* Will require gankers to lose at least 8 ships to completely destroy it.

Q: Why is there no faction / tech 2 ship mods?
A: You don't need them, if this doesn't hold, you're losing it anyways. Might as well make it a cheap loss.

Q: But I won't get super fat yields!
A: You can use a max yield fit when you have security and orca boosting. This is a solo fit.

Q: How can I avoid being ganked and not have to fit like this?
A: Fly with an 0.0 alliance who has security and space. Or fly in a boosting fleet that is running security. Being aligned while mining can also be helpful. Or simply fly in a dead system, docking whenever local becomes lively.

A: , Not at all... Like others have said before in this thread. 's can find ways to gank anything, anywhere. Don't get cocky and assume anything. This is EVE after all.

Q: But I don't have all level 5 shield tanking skills or mining skills!
A: You can achieve this tank in a little under a year with perfect mining skills. It only takes around 13 million sp to have exhumers 5 with all tech 2 mining crystals and perfect refining skills. Either dedicate the time, or run low. But don't say F%#@ that and run nothing at all.

To those brave miners out there, boldly adventuring into safe space, no need to D-scan, or care to watch local in high sec. I salute you for being gankable. Happy Hulkageddon!
