why does concord respond to gcc's in less than 2 seconds in a 0.5 system now ?

this is not tears, i don't really care about it.

i am just curious why things like this happen and there are no notifications about it.

it kind of looks like CCP does these things regardless of how the community will welcome it, and without thinking what impact it will have on a large number of players (positive or negative impact, regardless).

Currently there is a workaround:

Bring moar Alpha!

I'm not looking for a work around considering I don't suicide gank.

I am looking for a simple response from CCP as to why this was done.

A bit like the change in how only the last hit on a rat gets the sec status gain, which was changed during a stealth thing, CCP commented on it that it was a bug, and that they would work on it, and that was a month ago and it still hasn't been fixed back to its original.

So I'm a bit worried about the course of action that CCP is taking in the way they handle things like this.

Maybe a fix for this.

I don't think so, that fix was released during 1.6.4 as far as I know.

Blame Herr Wilkus and his boomerang technique.

Before going GCC in hisec, make sure CONCORD is not already on grid in response to another gank. If they are already there, they will instantly respond.

Very much.

If you really want a guaranteed (eventual) CCP response, petition this, don't post it on the forums.

When those doorknobs were boomeranging away thinking they're so clever, how come they weren't clever enough to realise that CCP were going to implement the most ham fisted cludge of a fix and make it simply worse for everybody?

The G-forces from that boomerang were so great that it gave them tunnel vision and reduced their brain capacity to only conceptualizing 30 seconds in the future.

If repeated too often, they were reduced to drooling key blobing Sansha bots that only responds to the Hive thereafter.

They deemed it a bannable exploit by avoiding concorde yes. I heard however that Concorde disengages your warp drive so you can't escape, but this response time decrease has also shown up at the last patch or 2. Boomerang was put pretty high on the priority list pretty quickly.

Its been bannable since the day that they announced "Avoiding CONCORD is considered and exploit."

Its just that this particular moron was too much of a moron to realize this, and thus told everyone to go perform this exploit on general discussion (this exploit has been around since the beginning of CONCORD, however most people don't want to get banned so it was rarely used).

GMs no longer wanted to deal with the giant influx of exploiters so they laid down the banhammer and picked up the hamfist.

They were probably already there and you were just too excited to get your gank on to notice them.

My understanding is that the "tackle" portion of CONCORD arrives much quicker. This is to lock down people so they do not warp off ala boomerang exploit or any future variation of it. The "tackle" portion of CONCORD only locks you down via infinite web/point so you should still be able to get your full DPS until the "wtfbbq" portion of concord comes and disables your drones, jams, neuts and kills you.

I don't see a problem with this change except that it will anger Herr Wilkus to no end and that is amusing.

Without any more detailed description of what actually happens (does anyone have any fraps of a recent gank to show this supposed change in behaviour?), this sounds like the most reasonable explanation.

It's also in line with what they've said we'll see post-inferno: once you trigger a GCC, you get insta-scambled, and then the ships arrive after the appropriate amount of time has elapsed (after which they death-ray you, which is basically just a work-around to reduce the amount of calculation needed — any effects showing CONCORD shooting anyone will be entirely decorative and have no connection to any actual shooting mechanics).

Doesnt this just strike anyone else as ... cheap?

I dunno its like even in the game they create they cant be sure these guys can kill you without a magical death ray
