Why do CCP talk about releases base on seasons ?

January = Summer (South)
February = Summer (South)
March = Spring (North)
April = Spring (North)
May = Spring (North)
June = Summer (North)
July = Summer (North)
August = Summer (North)
September = Spring (South)
October = Spring (South)
November = Spring (South)
December = Summer (South)

In some middle place, they dont even have Summer and Winter, they just have the "Wet" and the "Dry".

How about calling it the mid-year release ?

Because CCP live in Iceland... thats why believe it or not they have their own culture.

Same way septic yanks say Civilization or Specilization, where everywhere else say Civilisation or Specilisation.

You know, the year doesn't start the same day in all cultures either ...

Because they hate other countries.

Well it makes sense for them to call it Spring/Summer release when talking to Icelanders then doesnt it, but if your talking to a global audience why use terms that dont make sense for a lot of the target audience.

American companies have been doing this for decades so why should any other country be different? The world does not think in global terms and is unlikely to for a very long time to come.

It does not really work that way within a department when writing stuff you will usually write it in your local language.

For example im writing training documents for my company to use around the world, over 100,000 employees and offices in every part of the world.

My spelling and grammar (i.e of Specialisation and other similar words) will look wrong to all the people over in yankidoodle land or asia or Australia or where-ever, but in the offices here in Ireland, or the UK or all of the EU offices it will look fine.

Same idea really.

Everyone knows that no one really lives in any "southern hemisphere" because if they did, they'd obviouslly all fall off

Because they are confused by the whole summer thing. For them the list goes as follows:

January = Winter (with snow)
February = Winter (with snow)
March = Winter (with snow)
April = Winter (with snow)
May = Winter (with snow)
June = Winter (without snow)
July = Winter (without snow)
August = Winter (without snow)
September = Winter (with snow)
October = Winter (with snow)
November = Winter (with snow)
December = Winter (with snow)

Terrifyingly accurate, though June and July are legitimately nice. We also don't understand what Game of Thrones season 1 was all about.

Anyone living in the Southern Hemisphere caught playing EvE before their own local summer season officially begins will get banned.

We have "wet" "slightly less wet" and "windy and wet"

Dunno about your north but here it's:

January = winter
February = winter
March = winter
April = spring
May = spring
June = summer
July = summer
August = summer
September = autum
October = autumn
November = winter
December = winter

At south you have ever lasting summer.
