Bored Miner in need of help

So I was mining with my alt last night, blasting away into some asteroids when I realized that I was very bored of mining and I needed to do something different in EVE. I've been primarily a miner/mission runner, and I've dabbled in a few wormhole corporations, which I really enjoyed. Consequently, I'm planning on either getting back in a wormhole corporation or joining a null sec corp. I've got a decent amount of skills in shields, caldari ships and missiles, so I was thinking about training for the tengu. I'm not far away since I've got Caldari Cruiser V; I just need to finish up Heavy Missiles V for Tech II Heavy Missiles.

My question is this then: would the Tengu be a good ship to train to for someone like me, who isn't exactly sure what he wants to be doing but knows that it isn't mining. It seems like a really versatile ship and would be useful whether I end up joining a wormhole corp, heading to null sec, or running incursions. With that in mind, what are some essential skills to fly a tengu. Thanks in advance.

The T3s are a bit like Swiss Army Knives. So yeah, if you can afford it and fly it, there are many options.

That sounds like what I want then. Right now, I plan on training my up my tengu skills on this character, and training my alt to pilot an orca to operate as sort of mobile base for exploring wormholes.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found a link that pretty much answered my question. It is a list of a tengu skill plan. Here is the link if anyone else had a similar question: http://pastebin.com/UvawwSgc.

For nullsec you'd want a few other ships...

look into hac, interdictors, recons, interceptors, long range BC's (hurricane, drake), long range BS's of the minnie/amarr kind, logistics (the space priest kind) - scimitar/guardian.

Then you can have your multi-bil isk tengu run anoms and stuff to make isk on the side.
