100% INFLATION RATE IS TOO MUCH FOR ME

No one in Eve needs to eat, no one has babies, no one has to be unemployed. ISK is not printed endlessly out of a printing press to feed the demands of debt or government's need to buy votes and legitimacy.

While I am loathe to agree with an allcaps badposter, yes, Mining does need some sprucing up. Botting is a symptom of unfun gameplay, after all.

I saw a screenshot of mining that will supposedly use something like the probing UI, have scan down mineral veins in asteroids and then use mining lasers and drones on them -- was that fake, or is that something CCP is working on?

As for the market flux, it will calm down when Inferno hits -- just in time for Jitageddon to cause it all to go to hell. I do not know your playstyle but for the time being I would suggest the Goon Newbie's Motto: Never fly what you can't afford to lose.

I got to agree with the OP here.

For most players the core of EvE is blowing ships up and getting their ships blown up. And the majority of players don't want to spend their valuable gaming time looking at roids. It is totally cool with me that roiders get more isk but don't force people to do stuff they don't want to do.

Maybe scaling insurance with the buy price of a ship could ease the pain of those that like to phew phew.

Didn't I see the other day that there was another HULKAGEDDON coming up?

That should make it even more interesting.

I think the next hulkageddon and the burn jita events are before Inferno. As far as I know, crimewatch is not part of the 24th pre-expansion.

I for one can't wait for the people buying trit up at 5.85 a unit to get bit in the ass when all the meta 0 drops become metal scraps in two weeks time.

I lied :o

I just took a short break, only two weeks came back to find the economy out of freakin control.....i logged my trade alt to find all my ship orders have sold, went to pick up some more ships and i just couldnt believe it....

It doesnt realy affect my income as buy/sell is my "game"....however when inflation is this rampant its realy not a good sign for any economy.....CCP better step in fast.

I think the phrase "adapt or die" holds true here.

You can either (a) reduce demand by flying something cheaper or (b) help increase supply by going out and gathering resources or (c) pay someone else or (d) figure out supplemental income streams.

Also, prices for minerals can't go much higher or mining will be a better income per hour then mission running and anoms. If anoms are paying out X per hour and mining in null-sec passes that X per hour number, then at least some people will switch from anoms to mining.

Inflation is only ever caused by an increase of the monetary supply. Are the prices changing due to more iskies being in the economy or an anticipation of a change in supply of commodities in the future? If it is the later of the possibilities, the general price level increase is not inflation.

Meta 0 items will no longer drop -- anything that you can make via blueprint BPOs will no longer drop off rats in game.

The thing is, these meta 0 drops were almost always refined into raw ore, which will be removed from the economy, at the same time drone alloys will be removed from the economy as well. However, the Meta 0 drops are apparently being replaced with Metal Scrap drops.

What Drew doesn't realize is these aren't the traditional Metal Scraps, but new ones that refine into different minerals than just Trit.

Combine this with the botters being banned en mass and you're about to see a perfect storm: "Peak Ore" is about to hit. All the cheap sources of minerals in the game are vanishing, meaning that people are actually going to have to work for things. And like we saw when Goons went after the Ice Bots, lots of things are balanced right now based on EULA violations.

Should be interesting. Definitely a good time to be a market botter. Er, I mean, "Market Enthusiast."

Where was this posted? The nly thing I saw regarding the metal scraps was from Grayscale which pointed to the use of existing scraps the same as when BS meta 0 loot was removed:
CCP Greyscale wrote:
Due to the way that the loot tables are set up internally, it's *substantially* easier** to replace loot rather than remove it, so the solution we're going with for now is swapping all the Meta 0 stuff for metal scraps (the 0.01m3 version)

Comrade Engineer is correct.

If the money supply is constant, the a rise in the price of one good has to correspond with lower prices of another good (zero sum game)

If the money supply is growing, then the price of everything can go up simultaneously. (positive sum game)

I think perhaps it is you who should learn some economics.

1)The money supply is not constant. Its growing & a new ISK faucet is being created on top of it
2) Not only is the money supply growing a mineral(Drone alloy) faucet is being deleted ergo the other goods are SHRINKINGAttentionAttention

And then CCP is decreasing bounties across the board.

*argument negated*
