I had an odd experience. I was at a stop, turning left, saw two black guys across the street in what I thought to be really nice suits. I know theres a church somewhere nearby, so I assumed thats why they were dressed nice. I start my turn, a guy pulls out, I have to stop. The two guys are right by my car on the sidewalk and I have my windows down anyways, so I yell to then that I like their suits and they look sharp. Given its the south and tends to be very religious and old fasioned, I then said something to the effect that its nice to see ppl going to church "so well dressed" (thats the only bit I remember off hand), "god bless" (Im Wiccan, WE believe in a God too), and to have a nice day. The guy in front of me had moved by now, so I started to drive off, but I looked in the mirror to gauge the reaction of the guys behind me.
Brows furrowed, talking to each other with frowns.

HAVE we as a society become SO anti social that giving a blessing and compliments is considered STRANGE???

Blacks generally don't like it when you assume they need a reason to be well dressed.

And...

why were you hitting on them? Lol

lol, yelling at someone has never been something that will get a smile unless its a wooooo chick or you just left a sporting event. If you were on the street passing by that would have probably gone differently.

Kinda weird for a dude to complement other dudes dress attire when they're complete strangers. (

The only exception is a funny shirt or hat.

Wait, frowning is anti-social? Whoa, I did not now!

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

Maybe they were rich Atheists who just so happen to walk by a church?

Try it over here in China. Even if you say 'hi' to a neighbor, you'll get strange looks...

Now that I think about it, I can't come up with a good way to tell two random dudes that I like their suits without sounding gay, stupid, or both. Best to just not say anything.

Really?

What is so "gay" abut giving a compliment in the likes of 'hey , looking sharp!'?

I dress up every sunday and tuesday, full tuxedo (with a true blue shirt and a black tier with small blue stripes I might add). I recieve compliments all the time, thats not an exaggeration either, ALL THE TIME.

Then again im 20 and am mistaken for 13 on a regular basis. I would find it a bit strage that someone would go a little bit out of their way to roll the window down, give me a compliment, and drive off. Of course it would lead to "what was he thinking". Maybe youre just an extremely well manered person, like some older folk. Maybe youre in an unusually good mood, or just have that much more faith in the human race that people have acutal values and standards in life.

Or maybe I live in New york (long island, not that concrete jungle), and people are attempting to be a drive-by-tough-guy poking fun at a 'kid' in a suit. It really depends on where you live, but I would say they migh have even been offended as a guy gave them an unusually kind compliment and drove off.
