considering the DUSTies are suing empyrean style technology to be immortal to, it sounds fitting.

"There have bee about 514 Leap Years since Caesar created it in 54BC Without the extra day every 4 years today would be July 28, 2013.
Also the Mayan calendar did not account for leap year .... so technically the world would have ended 7 months ago.

Having read nearly 95% of Templar One, the only thing I can think of is that DUST refers to what happens to the immortal soldier's bodies when they transfer to a new clone. The 514 could in fact be a Biblical reference since the first immortal soldiers are created by the Amarr Empire.

In Mathiew 5:14, the Templar is depicted as the "Light of the World" in the Amarrian perspective. The Amarr Empire is clearly the "City on the Hill".

In John 5:14, the passage "See you are well again" could refer to being cloned. If the Templar does not remain pure, then something worse can happen - some of the prototypes (or perhaps all) had a defect built into them. At least one, Templar 6, went rogue and had to be shut down.

I would lean more towards Mathiew 5:14 considering Amarr's pious arrogance.
