EXTREME LAG!

After a bunch of patches, PVE still lags like stop motion animation. The reason I'm only addressing this problem now is that I had hoped CCP would have it fixed in some patch. But now here we are, after 4 or 5 patches, the issue is still there.

Specifically what I'm talking about is, whenever I'm on grid with any sort of entity (doesn't matter how big it is), the frame rate drops from 60 to 10. The activities that bear such a problem are ratting at asteroid belt, missioning, incursion, etc... In general, any activity that has "Entity" as part of the space.

I can't mention how annoying that is.

The only problem to solve this temporary is to zoom out. The further the camera is, the more frame rates that I get. So, in order to get a complete 60 fps, I would have to be looking at a spot, compressed of locked targets, unlocked targets, containers, wrecks, drones, etc... I don't like that and I'm sure no one does either.

So again, the usual question that always appears on this forum is, is CCP looking into this and is any other player facing the same problem.

If you would like screenshots of this then let me know.

I'm trying to track down performance issues as well. One thing for sure, check that you are on 10.7.3 if you have ATI graphics. There was a nasty bug that basically halved your framerate after one sleep sleep cycle. So everyone runs fine until your system goes to sleep then it goes to **** when you sleep/wake until you reboot. Was fixed with 10.7.3.

But your right there is something that is really hamstringing the performance when the scenes/grid gets over about 75 (for me at least)...you can see it in the FPS meter, basically looks like a square wave with something taking FPS down to half every second or so.

I'm sure they will figure it out.

Seeing that lack of response from CCP I'm just gonna post the screenshot anyways. Here it is http://cl.ly/2m2F2F2k2M1t3H00023N
I hope this problem gets fixed soon. Or not CCP, take as much time as you want. Seriously, I've faced this problem so many times I'm starting to get used to it ...
